The residential zone of the technological park of Alba at Cerdanyola del Valles, is a parcel strongly marked, not only by its residual state, between two determined urban webs, but also by its privileged location: concern-
ing the natural environment, the proximity to the future exchanging station; the fact that it is between the university of Barcelona and the technological park of Valles.
From now on, it can be said that it’s not a residual zone but a zone that functions as a link between two “worlds” of different origin. Nevertheless, by unifying them, both worlds could be mutually enriched.

Athens renews its basic urban equipment, beginning from the benches. In an effort of maintening this particular memory of the city, in combination with an ecological and economical approach of the design regarding the materials, it is proposed the re-using of timbers from the old benches.
The bench V.2.0 is an improved version of the existing bench: adapted to the posture of the human body, light-weight and flexible depending on the public scenery that may furnish. V.2.0. is offered as a separate unit, or as 2 units combined (in repetition), for urban use and public actions.

project: academic, mastertypology: rehabilitation,
complex of supervised housing and assisted living residences
year: 2010-2011location: igualada
The project’s “REC 6” theme is the rehabilitation of the area “Rec” of Igualada, an old industrial complex cur-rently abandoned. The programme is refered to a network of supervised apartments, nursing homes, and
assisted-living complexes along with facilities and other commercial uses.
The architectural proposal takes under consideration the environmental and historical value of the facades of the existing buildings, while at the same time complements them with new infrastructures. The new vol-
umes are developed in the perimeter of the site, creating a central square where the public facilities are situ-ated, a square-a meeting point that unifies (via an emblematic ramp) the different height levels of the terrain.

Capacity for 29 residents distributed in 9 apartments. Each apartment contains a
“standar” double bedroom and the possibility of adding up to two extra bedrooms (one of
them with independent entrance) according to the needs of every family. As a result, a typical one bedroom apartment may be
labeled as “one apartment and a half”.

Capacity for 37 residents distributed in 18 apartments. Each apartment
is divided in two unequal “stripes”. At the back there is the obscure “statical

apartment we find the “living zone” (kitchen, living room, bedroom).

AGENDA 21
CAN JOFRESA [terrassa]
in collaboration with: Caroline Jaussaud,Samia Duran
project: academic, mastertypology: energy-efficient
rehabilitation, year: 2011
location: terrassa
The intervention takes place in the district of Can Jofresa, a neighborhood of social housing (12 towers) that marks the end of the green corridor of Vallparadis. The urban approach of the proposal is based on the “action plan - Agenda 21” of the United Nations (left image). Meanwhile, the ideological aspect of the programme visiulizes a green corridor that no longer divides the region, but on the contrary works as an
element of union, in which the whole neighborhood is a vital part.
The project, both on large scale (district) and on small scale (towers) follows a disciplined and strict methodology of “DIAGNOSIS - POINTS OF ACTION”.
Points of action: invasion of the urban gardens, no-eviction of the residents during the construction works, reorganisation of the interior design of the apartments, passive and active ameliorations of the envelope of
the towers.

MEDITERRANEAN VILLAGE [volos 2013]
In the summer of 2013, the Mediterranean Games will take place in the city of Volos. As a result, it is being organized the construction of a Mediterranean Village that will host
athletes, trainers etc and that later will be converted into buildings of social housing.
From the beginning, the aim of the design was the creation of a model-community, regarding the energy autonomy but also in terms of promoting an ecological way of living to its residents, following at the same
time the needs and the functional programme defined by the association that organizes the Mediterranean Games. In general terms, it’s an holistic design, that starts with a green urbanistic approach and reaches up
till the bioclimatic analysis of the housing blocks.
This mediterranean village is based on alternative energy sources, in order to achieve an optimum energy performance of the community as a whole, but also in order to sensitize and raise public awareness.
