Hi, I am Ananda Das and welcome to my Graphic Design Portfolio. This is a compilation of some of my work to date within the realm of creativity and designing and includes some of the work from freelancing too. I have over 10 years experience in advertising and handled a spectrum of clients. I am an expert in all aspects of art direction including illustration, graphic designing, corporate identity, character designing, photography etc. I love my profession as this is my pas-sion.

I have in depth knowledge and expertise in the field of digital medium thoroughly. I also supervise photo shoots and printing to get optimum results. I have worked with many Creative Designers / Art Directors in India.

BRANDINgBrand is the “name, term, design, symbol or any other feature that identifies one seller’s product dis-tinct from those of other sellers.

It is the process of creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers’ mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a con-sistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differenti-ated presence in the market that at-tracts and retains loyal customers.

TYPOgRAPHYTypography is the art and technique of arranging type in order to make the language it forms most appeal-ing to transparent learning and rec-ognition.

The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, line spacing, ad-justing the spaces between groups of letters and adjusting the space between pairs of letters. In modern times, typography has been put into motion in film, television and online broadcasts to add emotion to mass communication. Digitization opened up typography to new generations of visual designers and lay users.

ILLUSTRATIONAn illustration is a visualization or a depiction made by an artist, such as a drawing, sketch, painting, pho-tograph, or other kind of image of things seen, remembered or imag-ined, using a graphical representa-tion. Printing is the current process for reproducing illustrations, typi-cally with ink on paper using a print-ing press.

Illustrations can be executed in dif-ferent techniques, like watercolor, ink, oil, charcoal chalk or woodcut. Illustrations are often carried out as a large-scale industrial process, and is an essential part of publishing and transaction printing.

PRESENTATIONPresentation is the way in which something is arranged, designed, etc. i.e. the way in which something is presented. It gives the first im-pression for a document.

Presentation should be considered as a physical work of art. The gram-mar check, font, color combination and alignment etc must be given importance as there are important aspects of presentation.

CORPORATE IDENTIYA Corporate Identity is the overall im-age of a corporation or firm or busi-ness in the minds of diverse publics, such as customers and investors and employees. Combination of color schemes, designs, words, etc., that a firm employs to make a visual statement about itself and to communicate its business philoso-phy. It is an enduring symbol of how a firm views itself, how it wishes to be viewed by others, and how others recognize and remember it.

Corporate Identity is ‘out there’ sen-sory-experience conveyed by things such as buildings, décor, logo, name, slogan, stationery, uniforms, and is largely unaffected by its finan-cial performance and ups and downs in its fortunes.

IMAgE DESIgNImage Design / Manipulation is the application of image editing tech-niques to photographs in order to create an illusion or deception af-ter the original photographing took place. A mere enhancement or cor-rection is known as retouching.

It is the art of altering an image to express what you want, rather than what the original image may have displayed. It is done for deceitful-ness and artistic reasons. Adobe Photoshop is the most popular ap-plication used for this process.

SKETCHINgSketching is simply or hastily exe-cuted drawing or painting, especially apreliminary one, giving the essen-tial features without the details. A rough drawing representing the chief features of an object or scene and of-ten made as a preliminary study.

A sketch may serve a number of pur-poses: it might record something that the artist sees, it might record or develop an idea for later use or it might be used as a quick way of graphically demonstrating an image, idea or principle.

DIgITAL ARTDigital Art is an artistic work or prac-tice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process. The impact of digital technology has transformed activities such as painting, draw-ing, sculpture and music/sound art, while new forms, such as net art, digital installation art, and virtual reality, have become recognized ar-tistic practices.

It is used to describe an artist who makes use of digital technologies in the production of art. In an expanded sense, “digital art” is a term applied to contemporary art that uses the methods of mass production or digi-tal media

STORY BOARDStory Boards are graphic organizers in the form of illustrations or im-ages displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence.

It is a sequence of drawings de-signed to show how a movie, book or advertisement will go. The story-board process helps promote brain-storming, highlights missing tasks, and allows the team to incorporate changes prior to traveling too far down a particular path.

COLOR THEORYIn the visual arts, Color Theory is a body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination. There are also definitions (or categories) of colors based on the color wheel: primary color, secondary color and tertiary color.

Color in design is very subjective. What evokes one reaction in one person may evoke a very different reaction in somone else. Sometimes this is due to personal preference, and other times due to cultural back-ground. Color theory is a science in itself. Studying how colors affect dif-ferent people, either individually or as a group, is something some peo-ple build their careers on.

PRODUCT DRAWINgProduct or Production drawings are complete sets of drawings that de-tail the manufacturing and assembly of products. They are orthographic views of machine parts and their assembly. Production drawings are defined as ‘drawn (graphic) informa-tion, prepared by the design team for use by the construction or pro-duction team, the main purpose of which is to define the size, shape, location and production of the build-ing or component’.

PENCIL DRAWINgDrawing is a form of visual art that makes use of any number of draw-ing instruments to mark a two-di-mensional medium. Instruments use based on pencils. Temporary draw-ings may be made on a blackboard or whiteboard or indeed almost any-thing.

The medium has been a popular and fundamental means of public ex-pression throughout human history.

PEN & INK DRAWINg‘Pen and Ink’ denotes a drawing technique involving the use of black and other coloured inks which are applied to a support (generally pa-per) with either a dip pen or a reser-voir pen.

This traditional, versatile media has been used by Western artists since ancient-Egyptian times, for sketch-es, finished drawings or ink and wash paintings.

PHOTOgRAPHYPhotography is the art, science and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electro-magnetic radiation, either chemi-cally by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film, or electronically by means of anim-age sensor.

Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensi-tive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. The result in an electronic image sensor is an elec-trical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing.

ACRYLIC PAINTINgAcrylic paint is a fast-drying paint containing pigment suspension in acrylic polymeremulsion. Acrylic paints are water soluble, but become water-resistant when dry.

Depending on how much the paint is diluted with water or modified with acrylic gels, media, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resem-ble a watercolor or an oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with other media.
