Porsche Sport Driving School - USAProgram Information

The Porsche Sport Driving School-USA

(PSDS-USA) places drivers on the

amazing Barber Motorsports road

course for an experience of a lifetime.

Discover the fascination of Porsche,

go beyond your limits, enjoy thrilling

sports car dynamics, and more, with

a sophisticated program sure to

exceed your expectations.

At PSDS-USA we adhere to one

principle: learning by doing. You’ll

finely hone your driving skills—from

the basics of vehicle control to

applying for your own racing license —

all under the skillful guidance of some

of the country’s most accomplished

race drivers. It ’s no wonder many of

our students make use of the various

courses offered by PSDS-USA time

and time again to further develop their

skills and take another step toward

their core goal: more driving pleasure

per second.

The fantasy made real.

This intensive one-day program at

Barber Motorsports Park begins with a

brief classroom session covering basic

vehicle dynamics and the driving line.

Participants then go through a series of

rotations: the Skid Pad, Performance

Driving Techniques, Autocross, and

track driving sessions. After lunch,

participants return to the autocross

track for the Autocross Challenge,

Lane Change, Skid Pad, and 911 Turbo

Launch Control exercises, before

spending the rest of the day lapping

the race circuit. While some schools

focus on classroom training in an effort

to limit vehicle use, we believe the best

place to learn is behind the wheel.

Our most popular course, the two-day

performance program at Barber

Motorsports Park, begins with a brief

classroom session covering vehicle

dynamics and the driving line.

Participants then meet at the track for

a series of rotations through the Skid

Pad, Performance Driving Techniques,

Autocross, and track sessions. The

first afternoon is spent mastering the

proper driving line and the many

technical corners of the track while

sharpening basic skills at the

Autocross, Skid Pad, and Lane

Change. Then it's off to dinner with

the instructors at the Grand Bohemian

Hotel. The morning of day two is

dedicated to track sessions, heel/toe

downshifting, competing in the

Autocross Challenge and participating

in cornering drills.

In the afternoon, participants will drive

a Porsche Cayenne SUV on the off-

road course, join the Skid Pad Team

Competition, and experience 911

Turbo S Launch Control. They will

also continue to refine their skills with

more track sessions. Hot Lap rides

with instructors wrap up the program

with a thrill.

This advanced course is offered to

former graduates of the PSDS-USA One-

Day Precision or Two-Day Performance

course at Barber Motorsports Park.

The Master's course is designed to

take previous participants, who have

gained basic skills and knowledge, to

the next level of performance. We begin

by polishing car control skills through

practice on the Skid Pad, Cornering Drill,

and Autocross where drivers will receive

in-depth instruction on techniques and

track-orienting sessions. Dinner with the

instructors at the Grand Bohemian Hotel

caps off the day.

Since honing driving skills is all about

track time, the key objective of day two

is to maximize time during the open

track sessions, including sessions in

the GT3 RS and 911 Turbo S.

Precision Course or Performance Course completion required.

The ability to know where the limits

are and to comfortably control the

car is what separates an amateur

from a professional driver. This

program at Barber Motorsports Park

focuses on two areas: first, developing

car control skills and learning to drive

a car at the limits of adhesion; and

second, refining the fundamentals

of performance driving on the track.

Participants will develop advanced

skills in how to optimize the vehicle

at the limits with electronic aids

turned off. They will fine-tune their

understanding of vehicle dynamics,

like how to correct oversteer, and

learn to control a perfect drift by

combining steering and throttle

control. Course instructors will also

show participants how to induce

and control trail brake rotation for

increased confidence on the track.

In addition to the Carrera S and

718 Boxster S, participants will drive

the GT3 RS and 911 Turbo S, and

gain valuable insight and information

through video and data analysis.

Masters Course completion required.
