A customer experience years in the making…

While researching building our camp. someone at work mentioned that their Uncle had worked with a group in the Plattsburgh area and provided the contact information. I reached out to this group via email and within what seemed like minutes received a response from Michelle. Finally, we felt like someone was understanding the dream, our vision and even more so was willing to work with us who understood the concept of building memories with one's family. After a few weeks of conversations and emails, we drove up to our property to meet Michelle and her team in person to get a lay of the land. From that meet-ing we came away with the same ‘can do’ attitude, and an overwhelming feeling that we were on the right track with the right builder.

Throughout this whole process, mind you it was a matter of 6 months or so, we received the utmost in personal attention, understanding and an overall feeling of 'family'. Working with Michelle was just a wonderful experience. Michelle welcomed us, worked hard on our behalf and instilled a feeling of trust that we hadn't received before. Being over 4 hours away and doing 90% of this by phone you'd think there'd be some level of apprehension - there was none. We felt like our Sister was building us our dream.

The day finally came and we were there bright and early only to meet the set crew busy readying every-thing for the day's events. Within a matter of hours the house was set and they were on to weathering it in. Our dream was a reality. Michelle made a special trip down that day to meet us and share in our joy. Talk about personal service. It's been about a year now since that day. We've been given our dream - a beautiful home in the Adiron-dacks that we can share with all of our friends and family, creating lasting memories of our own. We cannot tell you how wonderful and experience this has been. We were able to create our own dream with the help of a wonderfully talented staff and a dedicated builder. Again, all done electronically, over the phone and through the wonders of the internet; Michelle took the time out of her schedule to answer every question, and make things happen. She worked with the builder, the town and all other needed parties to make this all smooth and seamless. We never had a reservation or concern about this en-deavor regardless of the distance between us and the site - Michelle and her team took care of it all. We look forward to many years of enjoyment with our family and to our new friendship with Michelle and her family, and would recommend PHO without reservation to anyone -whether near or far. Don’t break the bank this holiday season The holidays are the time of year that most folks throw cau-tion to the wind and dig out the plastic to buy gifts for friends and loved ones. While we aren’t suggesting that you forgo your holiday festivities, there are ways to have your egg nog and drink it too…

Statistics show that the personal savings rate has dropped below zero. For every dollar earned, Americans spend $1.22. The average debt on credit cards has crept up to $9,000. And while retail therapy might be fun in the moment, it can leave you with a debt hangover in the morning.

Professionals say its time to get a reality check. Now, before the stockings are hung and your in the moment, is the time to de-termine the debt you already have. Start a journal listing your existing obligations and monthly payments. Additionally,

take an honest look at your expenditures and figure out the necessities and the luxuries. (Although it may feel like it, your

morning latte is NOT a necessity!) Evaluate every dollar you spend for a week or more to get an accurate picture.

your utility bill. Install a programmable thermostat to coordinate with your schedule, so you don’t pay for heat you are not enjoying.

Keep furniture away from radiators and heating registers where they can block heat from entering and circulat-ing in the room.

Consider switching high-use light bulbs from incandescent to fluorescent bulbs. They are more expensive, but last much longer and use less electric-

and windows. Use insulated drapery at sliding glass doors to cut down on heat loss.

When using your washing machine and dishwasher, run only full loads. Turn your setting on your washing ma-chine to cold for the rinse cycle. Hang laundry outdoors to dry. Make sure that the lint is removed from the dryer screen and vents. Air dry the clean dishes instead of using a heated cycle on the dishwasher.

Regularly clean the condenser coils of your refrigerator to keep it running opti-mally.

Consider using a water heater blanket and lowering the water heater thermo-stat to 125 degrees or the low setting. This avoids accidental scalding and reduces energy consumption.

Tried and True PHO Recipes by our landscaper extraordinaire! It is starting to feel like fall, so we thought we would ask Polly for a recipe to share. She has

worked hard all summer pruning and plucking the grounds of Plattsburgh Housing Outlet,

making our beautiful sales center even more inviting!

In our cold climate, NYSEG estimates that 50-60% of winter bills are for heating your home. With that in mind, here are some com-mon sense tips that anyone can do to help save money each month.

Make sure that your furnace receives a professional tune-up each year. Proper maintenance will ensure that it will last and operate at maximum effi-ciency.

Clean or replace your furnace air filters once a month. Not only does it cut down on allergens, but is also keeps your furnace running at potential.

Set your thermostat as low as com-fortable. For each degree you lower your thermostat, you can save 3% on

Pumpkin Roll Cake by

For Cake: 3 Eggs 1 Cup Sugar 2/3 Cup Pumpkin 1 tsp. Lemon juice ¾ cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. Cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger ½ tsp. nutmeg ½ tsp. salt ½ cup chopped walnuts For Filling 1 cup powdered sugar 2 3oz. pkgs. Cream cheese 4 tbsp. Oleo (margarine) ½ tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs for 5 minutes on high speed, then add all other ingre-dients, except walnuts. Mix for 3 minutes on high speed. Grease a

10” x 15” pan and also line with wax paper. Pour batter in pan and sprinkle with walnuts. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and turn up-side down on a damp cloth until cool. Spread filling over entire

cake, then roll cake. Place on a platter. If there is extra filling, you can frost the outside of the roll too!
