*What are the parts of a plant?*Name three different type of plants you know of?*What do plants need in order to survive?*Where are plants usually planted?*What kind of plants do animals eat?*Name as many fruits as you can that grows from a plant?*Can certain plants survive in the dark?

Activity*Each child will be growing their own Marigold!*Throughout the next couple of weeks, each child

will document the growth of their plant.*The data will include height, color, time, and

interesting observations of their plant.*They will also draw a picture everyday to help

document the growth of the plant.* Have fun watching your plant develop and

presenting the results to the class!

Goals*The goal is to watch the plant grow, and write and draw a daily observation of your plant.

*Observe the stages of the plant, how fast it grows, and other characteristics of your specific plant.

*At the end of the observation each student will draw a picture of your plant, explain your observations to the class and create a visual aid.

identify a Marigold as well as other plants you recognize.*Read a book about plants to see how other

fruits and vegetables are produced from plants.*Visit a local greenhouse to smell and admire a

variety of different plants.
