School Management Plan: Priority Area Professional Learning.
1.The outcomes for Professional Learning at Chifley College, Mt.Campus.
2. Reporting on the targets for Professional Learning, indicating what worked, what didn’t work and future directions.
Professional Learning
Outcomes:1. All staff to be aware of Department policies and procedures.
2. Appropriate induction programs for all new staff at Chifely College, Mt.Druitt Campus.
3. Professional Learning Plans developed and implemented for all teachers.
4. All NATs reach the requirements of the NSW Institute for professional learning hours.
5. School professional learning and administration procedures are alligned with the requirements of MyPL@DET.
6. Enhanced identification of professional learning needs of the School Plan (Area of Management).
7. An effective streamlined, accessible professional learning system exists at Chifley College,Mt.Druitt Campus.
8. Greater awareness of school management plan professional learning opportunities.

A greater incentive for presenters and participants. All Thursday morning PL workshops are to be placed onto MyPL@DET (Professional Learning History)and the school PL logging system (indicate Presenter/participant).

Great attendance of a Newly Appointed Teacher at the Thursday morning workshops.
Attendance by all at SDDs.
× Minimal attendance at PL forums. Greater encouragement for greater attendance at PL throught the HT Mentor & HTs. Use of PLPs would be beneficial.
Professional Learning Plans
Strategy:Professional learning Plans developed and Implemented for all teachers.Indicator:Professional Learning Plans completed across all KLAs.

Each KLA created their own ”Self Reflection sheet ” (using the same format acrosss the school).
The same PLP proforma used acros the school.
PLP matrix provided ideas for faculties.
Use of Institute Elements and Standards.
× It was difficult to achieve consensus with the development of the PL “matrix” and “Self Reflection” sheet.
× Teachers adhering to the due date of completed PLPs.
Teachers to complete the “Professional Learning Plan Review” near the end of the year to plan for next year.
“Aspiring” Teachers to complete the PLP created by Donna.
Additional lnformation on PLPs and accessing PL opportunities.

Last Days” Mandatory Tasks DET policies & procedures- Quizzes
Strategy:Staff are provided with learning activities in line with Department policies and procedures.Indicator:All staff completes mandatory tasks.
What worked What didn’t work Future Directions(Preference)
The incentive to complete the mandatory tasks to prevent coming to school on the second last day of school. (Round 1)
Staff gained a better understanding of DET policies and procedures.
A very high percentage of staff completed the Round 1 quizzes.
“Last Days” Saturday conference is placed onto MyPL@DET.
Certificates printed for completion of tasks.
Mandatory Tasks could be completed as individual or group work.
× At times the captivate quizzes failed to print some certificates or provide a result.
× Not all teachers completed all the required mandatory tasks for the due date. (Some tasks completed but not all).
Continue the same or similar process in the future.

Attendance at SDD workshops are recorded onto Teacher Professional Learning History on MyPL@DET. (PL can go with Teacher) for SDD2, SDD3 & Last Days Round 1.
Presenters completed “Templates” providing information on the workshops.This information used to gain approval of workshop/course through MyPL@DET.
× Placing SDD Term 1 onto MyPL@DET. There wasn’t enough understanding at the time.
× The inability to indicate staff members at SDDs workshops as a Presenter,Organiser,participant/attendee.
Hopefully MyPL@DET will create an option to indicate staff as a presenter, participant etc.
