Dear PICQS Member,
We are pleased to announce the 'PICQS Scholarship Program' of
PICQS Qatar Chapter. This
program will provide financial assistance for members who are
eligible to undertake the one-year
RICS APC Adaptation Route 1 offered by The College of Estate
Management (CEM), with a target
enrolment by November 2013.
Qatar Chapter came up with a number of key criteria for use to
facilitate the selection of the first QSscholar in Qatar. The
criteria, which are subject for review and approval of the
Chairman, will be asfollows:-
KEY CRITERIA
The chosen scholar will ensure that he/she has complied with the
following minimum conditions:
a) RICS approval to take Adaptation Route is granted.For details

If you feel that you have met the minimum requirements of the
CEM Adaptation Route,please send your updated CV to RICS (Resie
Samenada, RICS Membership Executive [email protected]) for
assessment.
Please note that the suitability of your existing degree and
prior experience must be
approved by RICS before you can submit an application to
CEM.
b) He/she commits to attend ALL PICQS organised CPDs (except
where a valid circumstanceprevents him/her from attending).
c) His/her present company is not providing QS-related study
sponsorship.
d) He/she declares to be a P3T Presenter at the subsequent P3T
batch/sessions.
e) He/she declares to be an active member of any committee.
f) He/she shall comply with the annual membership monitoring
record reviewed by theChapters Membership Committee for submission
to the PICQS National Board. The annualmembership monitoring record
include, but not limited to, members submission of an updated
career plan, attendance of 13 CPD hours within PICQS and other
external sources andpayment of PICQS annual membership fee.
g) He/she must pursue undertaking the APC of RICS after
graduation.
h) He/she must update the Knowledge Committee Chapter Head on
the progress of his/herstudies.
SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT
When agreeing to an application for educational sponsorship, the
scholar, the PICQS QatarChapter President and the PICQS Qatar
Chapter Knowledge Committee Head will need to signthe PICQS
Sponsorship Program Agreement Form. The agreement sets conditions
upon thesponsorship and, in order to protect the PICQS Sponsorship
initiative, aims to encourage thescholar to be active in all PICQS
activities after gaining the qualification.

No fees will be paid by the PICQS Qatar Chapter until the PICQS
Sponsorship ProgramAgreement Form is completed in full and
authorised by all relevant parties.
Half of the fees will become re-payable by the scholar
immediately should the scholar notcomplete a course, fails to meet
the academic, attendance or other requirements of CEM at anystage.
Where circumstances outside the scholar's control (such as ill
health) dictate that studycommitments cannot be fulfilled, PICQS
Qatar Chapter has the discretion to review the individualsituation
and consider an appropriate approach.
RE-SITTING ASSESSED MODULES
If a scholar is required to re-submit coursework, re-sit any
examinations or undertake additionalstudy in order to fulfil course
requirements, he/she will be expected to pay any additional
feesincurred. If such circumstances lead to a significant delay in
the scholars ability to complete thecourse, PICQS Qatar Chapter
reserves the right to terminate the PICQS Sponsorship Program
Agreement and may require the applicable fees to be repaid.
OTHER CONDITIONS
PICQS Qatar Chapter reserves the right to amend or cancel the
PICQS Scholarship Programpolicy at any time.
SUPPORT
The PICQS Qatar Knowledge Committee together with the PICQS
Members who have completedPG DipSurv and Adaptation course may
provide guidance, monitoring and assistance to thescholar as and
when required.
Please note that the 'Scholar Selection Process' is still under
review by the PICQS Qatar Officers in
coordination with the PICQS Chair and Founder. Once concluded,
we will notify all the members
accordingly.
