  • A hundred times every day, I remind myself that my inner

and outer life depend on the labours of other men, living and

dead. And that I must exert myself in order to give in the

same measure as I have received and am still receiving.

    - ALBERT EINSTEIN

The essential spring of all growth is within you. All that you can get from without is some food - material or spiritual - with which to build your own organism, and some stimulus to spur you to activity. What is really essential in your development, you must do for yourself.

    - ALFRED NORTH WHITEHEAD

Our mission is to influence practice and promote value-based growth. Our students will recognize, understand, and uphold the social relevance of business decisions, including within the underserved sections of society.

We uphold this mission because we recognize our twin roles as a responsible member of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and as a responsive member of Indian society at large and look at ourselves in a wider context as a Beyond MBA institution.

We will accomplish our mission through:

    (a) Learner-centric pedagogy that will emphasize attitudes, including spirituality, and skills as much as knowledge; (b) Exposing students to value-based growth in underserved parts of our communities; (c) Synthesis - in our intellectual contributions and curriculum - of competition - based western efficiency and collaboration-centric eastern ethos; and (d) Intellectual contributions aimed at influencing practice.

In our students, we recognize a predisposition and willingness to be a doer first. We also emphasize sensitivity to the social footprint of business actions and the role of spirituality in a balanced approach to decision making.

In our faculty members, we recognize a commitment to delivering outstanding learner-centric pedagogy by taking advantage of the personal, residential nature of our programs. We also require them to create and disseminate knowledge aimed at influencing practice.

As a community, we will realize these objectives through integrity, self-accountability, professional discipline, and hard work. We value operational freedom and uphold an entrepreneurial, agile, flexible, and collaborative culture.

BENEFITS TO RECRUITER: Complex implementation issues can be dealt with innovative ways as program participants bring in fresh thinking and the latest concepts.Enables evaluation of the candidate over a longer period of time compared to the limited duration of interviews during the placement period, thus reducing the probability of non-suitability or placement issues.

Indias rapid growth is increasingly underpinned by its traditional industries seeking to expand globally and the new services industries scaling up domestically. To manage both these models, India will continue to have high demand for new talent with a holistic understanding of business models, organization management, financial planning and enabling technologies. The SPJIMR PGPM Program has been ideally designed to meet this holistic need and aims to rapidly hone up students with at least five years of work experience - who already understand the competitive nature of business and appreciate how organizations work. In my interaction with the current batch, I found them to be articulate, confident, very well informed and above all, risks takers. The skills that this batch emerges with will make them extremely attractive for consulting and advisory firms.- Mr. Ravi TrivediPartner - Management ConsultingBusiness Advisory, KMPG

passion towards this field, serves as a

    facilitator between the SPJIMR

    community, industry and academia.

The club's goal is to cultivate thought

    leadership in Product Management. It

strives to achieve this by not only

    enabling industry engagement

    through workshops & guest lectures,

but also by ensuring holistic learning

    through group discussions &

    knowledge sharing sessions. As a

    result, the members get educated

about the latest trends in technology,

    learn from industry's leading Product

    Management professionals and are

    better equipped to become competent

    product managers of the future.

    THE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT CLUB

    Cinema often provides powerful

    insights into human behaviour and

    the socio-political complexities of our

world, thus leaving future leaders with

a lot of poignant questions. The

    Cinephile Film Club was therefore

conceived not only as a platform to

    unite movie lovers over screenings,

but also to view the world around us

    from the perspective of renowned

auteurs. Every screening is followed by

    an in-depth discussion to help

    uncover hidden layers and meanings

and also to develop a deeper

    appreciation for the medium. The

films screened are a equal mix of

    those with subtle management lessons

and those which represent a great

step forward in the art of filmmaking.

    THE CINEPHILE FILM CLUB

Let's Talk is a club dedicated to

    strengthening the public speaking

skills of PGPM participants. At each

session, we take turns to prepare and

deliver a short monologue before a

    supportive audience. Speakers are

    evaluated by peers on content

    structure, communication skills,

    confidence, body language and

    grammar. The speaking practice and

    peer feedback helps participants

    improve their public communication,

which, according to Ms. Indra Nooyi,

    Chairperson and Chief Executive

Officer of PepsiCo, is one of the four

critical skills for managers and is

    something "you cannot over-invest in".

    LETS TALK

Consulting has always been a major

area of interest and a desired career

option for PGPM participants at SPJIMR.

The PGPM Consulting Club aims to

    empower participants with the acumen

    required for the dynamic consulting

    business. This is facilitated through

    frequent guest lectures by senior

    professionals from eminent consulting

    firms and through insights from

    experienced faculty members at the

    institute. Most importantly, participants

are required to apply their rich

    real-world experience to challenging

    business cases, evolving solutions and

appearing for the kind of case

interviews they will invariably face as

part of the recruitment process at

    consulting firms.
