Introduction

Path: Scholastic → Other Modules → Personal Development The Personal Development module enables the recording of extra Curricula activities by both Students and Teachers. The information held within this module can be retained for the life of the individual within the database. This module can also be very useful when preparing school references for Students. Student Certificates are available and can be individually designed to meet School needs. The Personal Development module can be used for;

Recording Achievements; Prize Giving – Sporting - Cultural

Printing Certificates

Linking to Reports

Linking to the Alumni

Prerequisites

For the full usage of Personal Development set up the Following as required;

Maintenance Codes for Grouping activities will need to be created

If the results are to be retained in the Alumni an Activity Code will be required

If you will be printing School Certificates an Activity Code Heading will need to be created

Personal Development Codes

Step 1: Setting up the codes to be used Path: Scholastic → Utilities → Maintenance Codes Note: Never delete a Maintenance Code Type or Code; these Codes may be used in other modules of PCSchool. Maintenance Codes are used in Co-Curricula and Personal Development; they are unique to each School and can be created as you require them.

1. Select the Code Type of COCURRIC.

2. On the Next Free line enter a unique Code.

3. Enter your description for this Code, Tab off the line to Save and Refresh the view.

Activity Codes Path: Foundation → Community → Extended Community View → Create Activity Codes Activity Codes can be created to use as headings when printing Certificates. The Codes will print on the Certificates, on the Front Page of a Report as a Heading and will be recorded in their Record of Achievement.

1. Select School History, or the category most appropriate for the entry you are making.

2. Enter your Name for the Activity; this will print on the Certificate. Tab off the line to Save it.

1. Enter a unique alpha/numeric code; It is best to keep your codes in groups with a clear pattern.

2. A Sort Code can be used to keep the groups in order other than Alpha/Numeric. This is particularly helpful if creating Codes for Students and Teachers, allowing you to keep them grouped for easy selection.

3. Enter your Description for this Code.

4. The Default Year will be *C, you can select a different Year Level.

5. Select the Type of either Student Based or Teacher Based.

6. If this is a Student Based Activity you have the option of select a Category created in the Alumni. If you are printing Student Certificates this will be the Certificate title.

7. Click Save when finished.

Step 2: Entering information against the Student/s The information can be entered against the Students individually through;

Personal Development or Globally through Quick Student data Entry

Quick Student Data Entry Path: Scholastic → Administration → Quick Student Data Entry

1. Click to use the Tag Set.

1. Find the Tab most appropriate for selecting the Students. This view is Yr/Form/House.

2. Apply any filters for further defining the Students.

3. Click the appropriate button to Add the Students to the grid.

4. You can Manually remove check from Students.

5. These buttons can be used to assist in Tagging Students.

6. Click Return Tagged only when you have your list complete.

Personal Development

1. You can view the amount of Students Selected in the Tag Set.

2. Select the Personal Development Code from the drop down list.

3. Optional; Select a Teacher.

4. This will default to the Current Year Level of the Students.

5. The Date will default to today’s date and can be changed.

6. Optional; enter a comment.

7. Result: You can enter what the Result was - optional

8. Check if you wish to remove any entries against this Code, leave unchecked to use multiple versions of this Code.

9. Click Begin to start the process

1. Select the Student.

Check;

Current Year to view entries for the current year of the Student.

All to view all entries for the Student.

3. Click Add Item.

4. The date will default to today’s date this can be changed.

5. Select the Code you wish to attach to the Student.

6. The Year Level will default to the Students Current Year, this can be changed if necessary.

7. Result – optional message you can type in

8. Tab off the line or click Save to finish.

Teacher Data Entry Path: Scholastic → Administration → Staff View Path: Timetable → Administration → Staff View

1. The date will default to today’s date and can be edited

2. Click on Code to select the Code or enter the number if known.

3. Optional; Enter a description.

4. Click Save when finished.

Printing Certificates Path: Scholastic → Other Modules → Personal Development Certificates and reports can be printed on Students or Staff.

1. A Tag set can be used to select Students.

2. Check to print the Certificated for Students or Staff.

3. Most of the Filters are optional; select as required.

4. Click Print when all the filters are entered. A year can be included on the Report.
