Access to Assessments

Assessments in PCSchool Spider Web Application can be accessed by the Menu option.

Menu option

Select ‘Staff (General)’ from Filter menu by.

Click on ‘Assessment’ menu.

Select ‘Assessments’ from the menu.

NAPLAN Importing Data

The NAPLAN results can easily be imported into the Spider.

Firstly, the NAPLAN Results should be in a CSV format. This example is for a NSW School and these results have been received from BOSTES (Board of Studies NSW) in a CSV format.

Areas of Assessment must be set up in the back office of PCSchool:

PCShool reserves a specific Subject Code for NAPLAN – 999991.

Path: Scholastic > System Function > Curriculum Control > Subject Codes

Allocate Subject to Students:

Path: > Administration > Quick Student Data Entry > Student Data Entry > Subjects

Please Note: If the student is currently in year level 6 in the 2017 year and the results are for the 2016 year then the Period id will need to be 2016 and the year level should be year 5.

Allocate the Areas of Assessment to the Subject

Path: Scholastic > System Function > Curriculum Control > Areas of Assessment > Create New Area of Assessments

These numbers have been reserved for NAPLAN – Please set up as per example:

Codes:

Reading 99999904

Writing 99999905

Spelling 99999906

Grammar & Punctuation: 99999907

Numeracy: 99999908

Data Measurement: 99999909

Number Patterns & Algebra 99999910

Please Note: When Allocating Areas of Assessment please ensure the the period id is relevant to the results that are being imported:

Once the information is set up in the Back Office of PCSchool proceed to Spider for importing data:

Select CSV File and add file to import then select Subject Period and Year Level and NAPLAN Area:

Next select the fields:

Then select Save Results:

This screen will show all the information that will be imported.

NAPLAN Over all Report

The Over All Report shows a summary of data:

This information can be drilldown to see results of all students ie girls or boys etc:

Information can also be filtered by bands also:

Also if a student’s performance has declined:

The Summary of Student show all data collected over the years along with a graph to show the students progress.

The results graph can focussed one result or all results by selecting the either Reading, Writing, Spelling etc.

The Student Summary tracks every academic result the student has achieved since commencement at the School in this example:
