As we entered the New Year - 2016, in this issue I have many good news to share with you all. Recently we have appointed T.T.S. as our Representative for Egypt. It’s indeed one more feather in Grafica’s Export Cap! Because with 14 overseas distributors and our aggressive international presence, my company has touched 30% export. I am excited about Egypt market as T.T.S. will be showcasing our nano-prinTex at Egy Stitch & Tex expo in Cairo next month. I am also pleased to inform you that our UK Representative is all set to showcase nano-prinTag plus at PrintWear & Promotion Live expo in Bermingham. This is in addition to our success at SGI-Dubai where nano-prinTag plus was showcased by Al Mahir Print Equip., our UAE Representative. I am being invited to conduct an INTERACTIVE OPEN TECHNICAL SESSIONS right at Grafica’s Stall in the forthcoming GMMSA expo to be held on 19-22 February 2016 in Ludhiana. Apart from pre press, screen making, I would teach the technique of producing digital like quality by screen printing using Stochastic dots for the first time in India. Meanwhile, gone are the days when garment printers in India had to depend on costly imported Direct To Garment screen printing machines which require a compressor. However, by designing and manufacturing nano-prinTex and other automatic direct to garment screen printing machines, my company has given a fantastic choice to garment printers. That’s the belief of Rakesh Jain of Shree Jagdambay Screen Printers, Ludhiana. I thank him for his faith in brand Grafica. Finally, join me in welcoming Atila Güney, Ýstanbul, Turkey who will be writing technical article pertaining to textile/garment screen printing. Have a great season ahead Bhargav Mistry

Grafica has recently appointed Cairo based El Masria For Trade & Technical Services (popularly known as T.T.S) as its Representative for Egypt, located within the famous Nile Valley. “Egypt is a fast growing textile hub. So, our interest is to market and sell Grafica's nano-prinTex, an

automatic all electrical-mechanical direct to garment screen printing machine,” said Abdel Moneim Zaghloul, Director of T.T.S, who was on a two-day visit to Grafica and DMI recently. “I was quite impressed with Grafica's range of textile screen printing machines which were on

display at Fespa-Eurasia, Turkey, in 2014 and 2015. Some of my friends in the industry also gave me very positive feedback about the quality of Grafica's machinery and their educational initiative through DMI Institute,” says Abdel.

Interestingly, Abdel had air dashed to India for a visit to Grafica's factory at Vasai near Mumbai, following his visit to Fespa Eurasia recently. During the very first meeting, he expressed his interest to become Grafica's Representative for Egypt as he saw a good potential for nano-prinTex. And without making any delay, he also took an immediate decision to exhibit nano-prinTex at EgyStitch expo to be held on 22-25 February 2016 in Cairo.

One more feather in Grafica's Export Cap! Grafica appoints T.T.S as Representative for Egypt

At the recently concluded SGI Dubai exhibition (formerly known as Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East), the new nano-prinTag plus (4 colour/8 pallet) machines received tremendous response, as reported by Dilawar Dalwai of Al Mahir Printing Equipment Trading LLC, Grafica's UAE distributor.

Besides some spot order bookings, many serious enquiries were also received. SGI Dubai, an annual event, was held on 10-12, January 2016 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE. Al Mahir Printing Equipment had also showcased Grafica's Nano-Print plus and nano-prinTag, besides pictorial display of other screen printing machines and allied products.

SGI Dubai is one of the largest shows in the MENA region and one of the most respected shows in the industry. It may noted Al Mahir Printing Equipment has sold several sets of nano-prinTag, nano-prinTex, Nano-Print and Nano-

Print plus in the Middle East, in addition to large format flat bed screen printing machines and Cylinder Press with inline UV, ¾ automatic large format screen printing machine, CamShell and complete screen making set up.

There was virtually unmanageable visitors flow to Grafica's stall at the GarKnit-Expo held on 8-10 January 2016 in Kolkata. Grafica was the only company to hold live demo of direct to garment (DTG) screen printing machine – nano-prinTex, (8 color/12 pallet).

Scores of visitors cheered as Grafica team produced digital like

quality prints by screen printing.

“Unbelievable,” yelled many of the visitors who thrillingly moved around the machine as live demo of screen printing CMYK and special effects on white garments was in progress. Two glamorous designs were printed using stochastic dot technology. A number of professionals were

curious to know the technique of dot less halftone screen printing.

Stunning digital like quality samples produced in DMI's past DTG screen printing workshop, were put on display. Several knowledge and technology seeking entrepreneurs virtually surrounded the Grafica's team of experts, and Nilesh Enterprises

(Kolkata Representative).

Grafica had also pictorially displayed its entire range of textile screen printing machinery and allied products. The Kyo series DTG digital printing machine of Aeoon Technologies, Austria, represented in India by Grafica, was also pictorially displayed.

In an interview, Abdel Moneim Zaghloul, Director of T.T.S., the newly appointed Representative for Egypt speaks at length about his company's plans and strategy to promote Grafica's textile screen printing machines in the Nile Valley. Here we go: Your connection with Grafica:During my visit to Fespa Eurasia in 2014 and 2015 in Turkey I had seen live demo of their direct to garment screen printing machines with fine quality print results. Back in office, I evaluated Grafica's informative website and was quite impressed with their technology offering. I also got positive feedback from Aeoon Technologies which is represented in India by Grafica. Upon my visit to Grafica factory I observed that their machine is robust with good components, easy to operate as compared to other automatic machines. Considering the kind of labour that we have in Egypt, their nano-prinTex is less complicated. The print samples produced in front me were excellent.

Finally, I decided to join hands with Grafica to promote their machines in Egypt right away and we will be showcasing their machine in the forthcoming Egy Stitch & Tex expo in Cairo in February 2016.

Tell us about the DTG printing scenario in Egypt:Although Egypt has predominantly manual screen printing culture with long tables and manual carousel screen printing machines, now automatic machines are fast getting dominated the printing market. Although I do not have a reliable data, I can assume that there is about 40% YoY growth in DTG printing market (woven and knitted garments).

What's the market potential for Grafica's DTG screen printing machines? As a textile engineer with over 4 decades of experience in textile manufacturing, I have made a thorough evaluation, and I see a lot of potential for Grafica's direct to garment textile screen printing

machines. There is a ready market.

What's your strategy? We are just entering the Egypt market… but with Grafica's reliable machines and good intention behind machine making and knowledge sharing, we will make good effort to present their machine in the market with a positive note. We want the very first machine coming to Egypt to be the first and best testimonial to other customers in the market.

Yes we need patience. But we will provide full technical support (with

regard to design, pre press, color separation, color management, printing etc) to our very first customer in their production, train their personnel, and make a powerful impact.

What is your key strength as a dealer in machinery and materials? Our key strength is our domain knowledge in textile industry. We offer technical support to our customers. Moreover, spare parts are available anytime as we have a huge warehouse. We are into textile machinery such as knitting, but we also sell digital printing machines. We are currently selling direct to garment digital printing machines – for roll to roll fabric printing as well as t-shirt piece printing. We also provide machines for sublimation/heat transfers printing. We also supply all required materials – inks and papers/media for digital printing.

So, with the addition of Grafica's textile printing machinery into our product portfolio, we have now a wide range of technology to offer to

our customers – knitting, printing, finishing machinery and all related materials such as inks, chemicals, yarn, etc.

Do you think imparting knowledge is important?Yes. We have a different approach in our business model. We are not interested in just selling machines like a typical machine dealers. Machines can be bought by customers by online enquiries. But the real task is to provide training, knowledge and technical support so that customers grow year after year in such a way that they make repeat investment after their success.

As technical person with deep interest in academic activity, I believe in teaching and spreading knowledge, sharing information … this is fruitful for both customers and suppliers. I share the same thought with Grafica, and together we can make a greater impact in Egypt market.

What's your impression about DMI Institute?During my visit to Grafica I was equally impressed with their DMI institute. I came to the conclusion that we are in a same boat. We consider providing knowledge in screen printing, of course in association with DMI Institute, is our main responsibility while selling Grafica machines. I think this is the great way of doing business; it is a concept that I had seen in Germany some 30 years ago where industrial equipment manufacturers run training centres to impart knowledge to users.

Tell us about your Academic connection:Teaching is in my blood and it is indeed our forte. I am into teaching for the last 20 years in flat knitting, DTG digital printing and screen printing will be our future endeavour. I conduct training programme for customers in knitting technology besides lectures in Universities for Textile designing under Applied Arts course module. I am also visiting faculty to some of the textile institutes besides a speaker at various seminars and industry forums. Although education is the responsibility of governments, industry cannot neglect it. Our company invites students to take up some practical projects in knitting and textile printing at our showroom cum training centre.

About T.T.S.T.T.S (El-Masria For Trade and Technical Services Company) was founded in 1994 by Abdel Moneim Zaghloul, a textile engineer with academic interest. T.T.S. is the distributor for knitting and printing machinery and also materials - Yarn, chemicals, inks, etc. They market of Knitting, finishing, DTG printing (digital) machinery (and now onwards screen printing machinery). Based on his experience with Grafica's nano-prinTex, Rakesh Kumar of Shree Jagdambay Screen Printers, Ludhiana, tells that there is no need to buy costly imported automatic DTG screen printing machines. Why? Read on …!

Your view about nano-prinTex?I had attended the launch party of nano-prinTex at Grafica's factory few years ago. After attentively listening to a convincing presentation by Bhargav Mistry, and a live demonstration of the nano-prinTex, then and there only I decided to buy their machine.

I appreciate Bhargav and his team in Grafica for indigenously designing such a fabulous textile screen printing machine which has no problem in terms of its speed or quality of print. Commendably, they have improvised their machine since its launch and that shows their technical capabilities.

As a patriot, I felt we should encourage Grafica who designed such a fantastic automatic DTG screen printing machine, thus giving us a right choice over a costly imported machine. While our Prime Minister has a powerful a vision of 'Making in India', why not we then support an innovative company which is making a quality textile screen printing machine in India? I am happy to say that we also enjoyed cost advantage as against the imported machine.

I think 'imported machine' is a mindset fuelled by inferiority /superiority complex; and I believe quality is within your mind, if there is no quality attitude what is the use of investing even in the world's best machine? Never ever my customers ask whether I am printing on an imported machine

Over to Rakesh Jain:

CustomerCustomer

"Nano-prinTex efficiently meets our production and quality requirement, there is no need to depend on costly imported machine"

Rakesh Kumar, , LudhianaShree Jagdambay Screen Printers

or Indian machine. They are simply interested in getting quality prints done, and timely delivery with competitive price.

What about performance of nano-prinTex?The best! With the automatic nano-prinTex, we are able to please our customers with quality prints. Our production has increased tremendously; we deliver jobs on time and customers are now quite satisfied leading to repeat orders. Grafica's nano-prinTex has simple to use and beneficial features. Our operators enjoy silently working

with nano-prinTex since there is no noise. Moreover, as a knowledge-based company, Grafica's extends the best technical support.

What about the speed? It's good. When it comes to 'speed' and 'quality of print' we do not have anything to complaint. In fact when one machine supplier approached me with a sale gimmick that they have a machine which is faster than Grafica. I told him that we do not have any problem with regard to the speed

of nano-prinTex which sufficiently and efficiently meets our production and quality requirement. I asked him 'what is the use of speed if it is beyond the capacity of operators? Because even in an automatic DTG screen printing machine, sufficient lead time is required to load and unload the fabric before and after printing especially when you print special effects/high density, etc on large sizes.

What's your production capacity? We mainly undertake printing of kids wears. I started off my garment printing unit (900 sq.ft) in 1994 with 4 manual printing tables with a capacity to print 300-400 pc per day. Today, our 7000 sq.ft production facility houses one Grafica automatic DTG screen printing machine - nano-prinTex (8 color/12 pallet), complete screen making set up, 5 manual screen printing machines and 15 long manual printing tables (for cut piece and roll to roll fabric printing). In all we have a capacity to print around 2000 pcs per day. In all now we have a production capacity of 3000-5000 pieces per day or more depending on no. of colors. We have wider choice for our customers when it comes to garment decoration. Today the trend is that 80-90% of the jobs have mix of screen printing and embroidery. Since we have computerized embroidery facility, it's an advantage to our customers. We undertake -Spot color jobs

upto 6 colors, CMYK/photoprint, High density/special effects, and Embroidery/print combo. We also undertake Roll to roll screen printing - all over.

Who's your mentor? In my quest for knowledge in garment printing, I found a mentorship in Rakesh Jain of Ambi Hosiery who motivated me in various aspects such as color of fabric, fundamentals of garment printing and use of design elements, spot colors/CMYK, depth of printing. He guided me about the management aspect of running a factory. I am proud to say that today my own Mentor is my customer.

What's your Success mantra?! We believe in team work. I do

not believe in working all alone, and instead I delegate right work to right staff as per their skill.

! My principle is to work with intelligence and not to work hard as 'working hard' is harmful. We do not believe in doing so many designs or samples for one job. We tell our team to focus and hit the target at the very first attempt itself as otherwise it will be a waste of time and energy. We believe in the concept: “No time for 'try again' and 'finish it in the very first attempt'.

! We also believe in maximum work in minimum time & 'relax and enjoy work' with 'cool mind.'

supply of 100% accuracy products to customers,” says Abubucker J. “This was possible only after we embarked on automation in screen printing. Earlier we had three manual tables; not only production was slow but rejection and wastage was huge. Now with automation not only we are able to offer quality products but also undertake multi colour jobs easily.”

He says that Grafica's screen printing machine and allied equipment are easy to operate with superior performance. “Moreover, we are greatly benefited from their technical support. I was fortunate to attend DMI's workshop where I learnt correct method of screen making including exposing, advantages of UV ink vs solvent ink; and how to achieve registration accuracy in screen printing. In industrial screen printing is all about quality and accuracy. It requires proper knowledge. So, DMI is a great knowledge-sharing initiative of Grafica. In the last two decades I never came across such an institution in India that offers advanced screen printing process,” he concludes.

Nikhil Ranade explains the benefits of automation based on his personal experience. His company, Shree Enterprises, Pune, produces a wide range of industrial labels to automobile, electrical, electronics and engineering companies in Pune and other parts of Maharashtra state, of course using Grafica’s Nano-Print. A BA in Psychology and MA in Economics, Nikhil’s whole family consist of academicians and are into service. He got into screen printing as a passion despite initial friendly resistance from his family. Since 1984 he was trading in screen printing materials which he

He got into screen printing in 1994. “Frankly speaking, with my experience in dealing in inks and consumables earlier, I can say that it is impossible to print high end industrial stickers and labels with consistent quality by manual screen printing.

On the other hand with automation our business has increased. There are following benefits with automation: ! Productivity improvement! Variables are controlled easily ! Quality improvement! Automation is profitable.
