Department of Mathematics, IIT Roorkee
The Department of Mathematics attained its present status of
an independent Department in 1960. Growing steadily, the
Department runs two - year M.Sc. courses in Mathematics
and five-year Integrated M.Sc. Program in Applied Mathemat-
ics, where admissions are made through JAM and JEE,
respectively. Besides the central computing facilities of the
Institute, the Department has its own state of the art
Computational, Mathematical Modeling and Biomechanics
laboratories. It also offers facilities for research work leading
to Ph.D. Degree in different branches of Pure and Applied
Mathematics e.g., Approximation Theory, Summability Theory,
Special Functions, Differential Equations, Coding Theory,
Simulation and Modeling, Robotics and Control, Fracture
Mechanics, Theory of Vibrations, Computational Fluid
Dynamics, Bio-Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics
and Tomography, Fuzzy Set Theory, Parallel Computing,
Optimal Control Theory, Computer Graphics and Animation,
Image Processing and Numerical Analysis. To keep abreast of
the developments, the Department periodically keeps on
updating and revising its teaching and research schemes, and
introduces new courses.
About The Conference
The Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technol-
ogy Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is proud to organise the Interna-
tional Conference on Mathematical Analysis and its Applica-
tions (ICMAA 2016). The main objective of ICMAA 2016 is to
bring mathematicians from various parts of the world working
in topics related to the conference, to interact with each other
and to exchange ideas. ICMAA 2016 serves as an excellent
platform to inculcate research interest among young minds on
recent topics of Mathematical Analysis. The SIAM Activity
group on Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions
(SIAG-OPSF) is also involved in the conference.
Topics
All topics related to Mathematical Analysis and its applica-
tions, including but not limited to:
Analysis of Differential Equations (including Control the-
ory, Fractional Calculus and Stochastic PDEs)
Complex Analysis
Fourier and Wavelet Analysis
Harmonic Analysis (including Potential theory, Harmonic
Mappings and Quasi-Conformal Mappings)
Inverse Problems and Non-linear Analysis
Matrix Analysis, Operator Theory and Function Spaces
Modern Methods of Summability and Approximation
Orthogonal Polynomials and Special Functions
