Your support is greatly appreciated Please remember your Parish during

these trying times!

Where all are Welcome…

"In compliance to the State of North Carolina and CDC requirements, everyone participating during school masses will have to wear masks and their temperatures taken prior to entering the church.

Thank you for your cooperation."

If you are attending Annunciation and are not registered with the Parish as a member, we have no idea if you are a participating Catholic or not, so please register and if you can not afford to give monetarily please put a blank visitors envelope in the

offertory so that we know you are attending. Also for all of you who pay by cash we really appreciate it but if you would put it in an envelope we could track that you are attending as well. It is important when it comes to all the Sacraments. We can not say you are active if we do not know. Thank you…

40 Days for Life Spring Campaign February 17 to March 28

Please join together as a parish to fast and pray for an end to abortion and for a culture of life in our country and the world.

We ask you to look online at www.40daysforlife.com to read about this international group based in Texas who are making such a difference. The Spring and Fall campaigns lead us in 40 days of prayer, fasting and witness at abortion clinics across the country. We at Annunciation have adopted Planned Parenthood in Wilmington to focus on. Everyone is called to pray daily and make some fast commitment during Lent for the end to abortion and to help the mothers and babies in need. Fasting is the real key. If we can do something extra as well as pray, we can move mountains! Please sign up for the prayers and pro life news online. Join us as we do what we can on a local level to close this abortion clinic and stand up for Life. We will have one or two trips to pray near Planned Parenthood as a group for anyone interested. Questions? Leave a message for Jennifer at 252-571-4177

ASH WEDNESDAY

February 17

“In laying upon us the light cross of ashes, the Church desires to take off our shoulders all other heavy burdens—the crushing load of worry and guilt, the dead weight of our own self-love. We should not take upon ourselves a “burden” of penance and stag-ger into Lent as if we were Atlas, carrying the whole world on his shoulders. . . Pen-ance is conceived by the Church less as a burden than as a liberation. It is only a burden to those who take it up unwillingly. Love makes it light and happy. And that is another reason why Ash Wednesday is filled with the lightness of love.”
