ASRS – Automatic Storage & Retrieval System
Why ASRS?
• Exploit the vertical height at each Warehouse
• Protected pallets to address issues related to rodents,
infestation etc.
• Provision for humidity and moisture control
• Automate material handling – stacking and de-stacking
• Efficient pack / value-added services /ship processing
• Provision for Cold Storage
• Use of full vertical space augments current capacity -
Sealed warehouse allows maximum control of
humidity and temperature 24/7, minimizing
evaporation from low humidity and high temperatures
and reducing energy consumption.
Automated Stacking and De-stacking:
• Decreased handling
• Decreased inventory wastages
• Decreased cycle or rotation time
• Decreased personnel and labor costs
• Increased production throughput
• Increased efficiency
Less lost or damaged product - Right spacing allows easy
fumigation and proper illumination - Closed Pallets to
Eliminate Damage during Storage due to rodents etc. -
Palletized storage resulting in negligible unit load on each
item stored - Computer monitors First In First Out to
avoid Ageing losses
• Computerized monitoring and tracking:
• Improves data accuracy
• Improves inventory and resources
management
• Improves reporting and communication all of
which leading to tangible efficiency gains
• Availability of Real time data to decision
makers
• Improves supply chain logistics and
management year after year.
• Order picking synchronized with conveying
systems
• Throughput Enhanced 20 times
• Accuracy up to 99.99%
• OSHA Friendly Ergonomics
Compactor System
In this concept of storage automation the storage
racks are collapsible type. Loading / unloading of
the material can be done semi-automatic or
automatically. Space utilization is done more
efficiently in this concept. In case of semi-
automatic concept material handling can be done
with fork lifts, stack loaders while the automatic
loading / unloading can be done with ASRS stacker
cranes.
The required aisle is only opened in this case and
remaining aisles/racks are closed. This results in
effective space saving.

AGV : Automated Guided Vehicles
Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) increase efficiency and reduce costs by helping to automate a manufacturing
facility or warehouse. The AGV can tow objects behind them in trailers to which they can autonomously attach.
The trailers can be used to move raw materials or finished product. The AGV can also store objects on a bed. The
objects can be placed on a conveyor and then pushed off by reversing them. Some AGVs use fork lifts to lift
objects for storage. AGVs are employed in nearly every industry, including, pulp, paper, metals, newspaper, and
general manufacturing. Transporting materials such as food, linen or medicine in hospitals is also done.
Truck Loading/unloading Automation
Material loading/unloading in the truck can be automated with proven technology at PARI. By this way we can
increase the overall efficiency in the warehousing activities. Truck loading/unloading automation can be interfaced
and connected with the ASRS and internal data server for inventory management as well as dispatch order
execution.
