Your physician has prescribed the LCSprint reusable nebulizer to

treat your respiratory symptoms because of PARIs reputation for

consistent particle size and fast treatments resulting in targeted

delivery to the lungs. PARI nebulizers are the most widely used

nebulizer by pharmaceutical companies in clinical trials for new

medications compared to any other brand. Designed with the

patient in mind, these instructions will help you achieve the best

aerosol therapy experience.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A SECOND PARI REUSABLENEBULIZER & EXTRA FILTERS ON HAND AT ALL TIMES.

A. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

CAUTION

The LCSprint is a handheld nebulizer,

designed to aerosolize medication approved for

nebulization and prescribed by a physician. The

LCSprint is intended for adult and pediatric

patients consistent with the indications for the

aerosol medication. Improper use can result inserious or fatal illness or injury. Nebulizer is

not sterile.

WARNING

Use only when prescribed by a physician and

with the prescribed medication. In order to

achieve the specified droplet characteristics the

compressor or central air supply must provide

3.5 - 8 lpm at a minimum of 20psi.

WARNING

1. To reduce the risk of increased bacterial

growth, infection, illness, or injury from

contamination: thoroughly clean and dry all

parts of the nebulizer and thoroughly dry

any moisture or condensation in the tubing

at the end of every treatment following the

instructions below.2. Cleaning the nebulizer after each treatment

is not enough---you must regularly disinfect

or sterilize the nebulizer between treatments

to prevent serious or fatal illness caused by

contamination of the nebulizer.

3. Never use a nebulizer with a clogged nozzle.

If the nozzle is clogged, the aerosol mist will

be reduced, altered or stopped, which will

diminish or eliminate the effectiveness of the

treatment. If clogging occurs, replace with

the same model PARI Reusable Nebulizer.

4. Close supervision is necessary when this

product is used by or near children andphysically or mentally impaired. Never use

when sleeping or drowsy.

5. This product contains small parts that may

present a choking hazard to small children.

The tubing also presents a strangulation

hazard. ALWAYS USE CLOSE ADULT

SUPERVISION WHEN ADMINISTERING

A TREATMENT TO A CHILD. DO NOT

LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED DURINGTREATMENT.

6. Patients under the age of 4 or any patients

who have special needs should use a

facemask instead of the valved mouthpiece.

7. Before use, check PARI Reusable Nebulizer

for proper assembly. All parts should be

seated firmly in place. Use of an improperly

assembled nebulizer could diminish or

prevent adequate delivery of medication andthe effectiveness of the treatment.

C. TIMESTRIP

It is very important to replace your PARI

reusable nebulizer every 6 months for the

most effective treatments. Timestripis a

visual indicator that makes it easy for you to

remember when to replace your nebulizer.

Activating Timestrip:Firmly squeeze the PARIbubble between your finger and thumb. You may

need to squeeze it more than once to ensure all

the liquid has been emptied from the bubble.

Verify Activation:A red line will appear in thesmall circle of the Timestripwithin 1 to 2

minutes, indicating activation. If you do not

see the red line after 3 minutes, press the

bubble again.

Attach to compressor:Remove the adhesive tabon the back of the Timestripand attach the

Timestripto the front of your compressor

(Fig. A). IMPORTANT DO NOT ATTACH

Timestripto your NEBULIZER CUP.

Replace Nebulizer:When you see the wordNOW appear in the window, you know its time

for a new PARI reusable nebulizer! Contact your

home healthcare provider or pharmacy to order

your new PARI reusable nebulizer.

WARNING

The Timestrip may present a choking hazard to

small children adult supervision is required.

Timestripdoes not monitor the condition of the PARI reusablenebulizer. Timestriponly records the passage of time after it isactivated. If activated at the time of first using the PARI reusablenebulizer then it will ser ve as a reminder that the PARI reusablenebulizer can be replaced.

The liquid inside the Timestripis not toxic. If tampered with, theTimestripmay leak and will not function properly. If the liquidcomes into contact with the skin wash with soap and water. If theliquid comes into contact with eyes rinse immediately with waterfor 15 minutes. If irr itation develops, seek medical attention.

D. NEBULIZER SET-UP

1. Clean/Disinfect Nebulizer Cup:Refer to SectionE-F to clean and/or disinfect your nebulizer

prior to first use. Re-assemble nebulizer.

2. Connect Tubing To Compressor :Insert one endof Wing-Tiptubing to the air outlet on the

compressor. It should fit snugly (Fig. B).

3. Load Medication:Open the Inspiratory ValveCap of nebulizer by lifting the cap (Fig. C).

Pour medication into nebulizer cup. Never

fill past the max. fill line of 8 ml.

4. Attach Mouthpiece or Mask:If using themouthpiece, attach the mouthpiece to the

nebulizer outlet with the expiratory valve facing

up. Then attach the inspiratory valve cap by

pressing it firmly into the top of the nebulizer

(Fig. D). If using a mask, refer to the mask

instructions.

5. Attach Tubing To Nebulizer Cup:Firmly pressother end of the Wing-Tiptubing to

bottom of PARI LCSprint (Fig. E).

6. Starting Treatment:Sit in a relaxed, uprightposition and turn the compressor ON.

7. Nebulizer Position:Place the mouthpieceon top of tongue and close lips around it.

Take slow, deep breaths. As you inhale, the

inhalation valve opens.

8. Breathing:For mouthpiece, inhale and exhale

slowly through your mouth. As you exhale,the valve on the mouthpiece opens to allow

the exhaled mist to escape. For mask, place

mask over nose and mouth and inhale and

exhale slowly.

9. Complete Treatment:Continue until themedication is gone or you hear a slight

sputtering sound. Turn compressor off.

WING-TIPTUBINGIt is normal if moisture or condensation

appears in your tubing during a treatment. This

can be a natural effect of your environments

temperature. If this happens, finish your

treatment and then disconnect the tubing from

the nebulizer. Leave the other end attached to

the compressor air outlet and let run for a few

minutes. The warm air from the compressor

will dry the inside of the tubing. Use a dampcloth to wipe the exterior of the tubing.

1. Disconnect the tubing from the air intake on

the bottom of the nebulizer cup.

2. If there is any moisture (condensation) in

the tubing, let the compressor run with only

the tubing attached for 2-3 minutes. The

warm air from the compressor will dry outthe tubing. Alternatively, you can dry the

tubing by removing it from the compressor

and hanging it up with the ends down to

allow any moisture (condensation) to drain

out and evaporate. Use a clean damp cloth

to wipe the exterior of the tubing.

3. Disassemble reusable nebulizer parts as

illustrated on page 3.

4. Wash all parts with warm water and liquid

dish soap. DO NOT WASH THE TUBING.

5. Rinse the reusable nebulizer parts thoroughly

with warm water and shake out water.

6. Air dry or hand dry nebulizer parts on a

clean, lint-free cloth. Reassemble nebulizer

when parts are dry and store.

7. You can also wash all parts of the reusable

nebulizer on the top shelf of a dishwasher.

DO NOT WASH TUBING. Place thereusable nebulizer parts in a dishwasher

basket, then place the basket on the top rack

of the dishwasher. Remove and dry the parts

when the dishwasher cycle is complete.

WARNING

TO REDUCE RISK OF INFECTION:

1. Nebulizer for single patient use (one person)only. Do not share your nebulizer with other

patients.

2. You must regularly disinfect or sterilize the

nebulizer between treatments. Failure to do

so could lead to serious or fatal illness.

F. DISINFECTING YOUR PARIREUSABLE NEBULIZER

1. Clean the nebulizer as described in Section

E. For low-level disinfection every other

treatment day, soak all parts of the PARI

Reusable Nebulizer (except tubing and

mask) in a solution of 1 part distilled whitevinegar and 3 parts hot tap water for 1 hour.

You can substitute respiratory equipment

disinfectant (like Control III) for distilled

white vinegar (follow manufacturers

instructions for mixing).

2. Rinse all parts of the PARI Reusable

Nebulizer thoroughly with warm tap water

and dry with a clean, lint-free cloth. Discard

the vinegar solution when disinfection iscomplete.

3. The PARI Reusable Nebulizer parts (except

tubing and mask) may also be disinfected by

boiling them in clean pot of water for a full

10 minutes.

4. Hospitals and clinics can sterilize the PARI

Reusable Nebulizer parts (except mask and

tubing) by autoclaving (a maximum of 277 F

or 136 C), follow autoclave manufacturersinstructions.

5. Dry parts on a clean, lint-free cloth.

A. PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

PRECAUCIN

El LCSprint es un nebulizador de mano,diseado para suministrar medicamento poraerosol aprobado para nebulizacin y recetadopor un mdico. El LCSprint est destinadopara uso en pacientes adultos y peditricos, demanera consistente con las indicaciones para elmedicamento de administracin por aerosol.El uso indebido de este producto puedeocasionar enfermedades fatales o lesionesgraves. El nebulizador no est esterilizado.

ADVERTENCIA

Utilcelo nicamente por indicacin mdica ycon el medicamento recetado. A fin de lograrlas caractersticas de gota especificadas, el

compresor o suministro de aire central debenproporcionar 3,5 - 8 lpm a un mnimo de 20 psi.

ADVERTENCIA

C. TIMESTRIP

Para obtener los tratamientos ms eficaces, esmuy importante que reemplace su nebulizadorreutilizable PARI cada 6 meses. Timestripesun indicador visual que le ayuda a recordarcundo debe reemplazar su nebulizador.

Activacin de Timestrip

:

Apriete con firmezala burbuja PARI entre su dedo y el pulgar. Esposible que deba apretarla ms de una vez paraasegurarse de que haya salido todo el lquidode la burbuja.

Verifique la activacin:Aparecer una lnea rojaen el crculo pequeo de la pegatina Timestripen 1 2 minutos, lo que indica la activacin. Sino observa la lnea roja despus de 3 minutos,vuelva a apretar la burbuja.

Conctela al compresor:Desprenda la pestaaadhesiva en la parte posterior de la Timestripy conecte la Timestripa la parte frontal delcompresor (Fig. A). IMPORTANTE: NOCONECTE LA Timestripa la TAZA DELNEBULIZADOR.

ADVERTENCIA

La Timestrip puede plantear un riesgo de asfixiapara nios pequeos; por ello, es un requisitoque cuenten con supervisin de un adulto.

La Timestripno monitorea la condicin del nebulizador reutilizablePARI. La Timestripsolo registra el transcurso del tiempo despusde que se ha activado. Si la activa al momento del primer uso delnebulizador reutilizable PARI, entonces le servir como recordatoriode cundo debe reemplazar el nebulizador reutilizable.El lquido dentro de la Timestripno es txico. Si intenta alterarla,la Timestrippuede sufrir filtracin y no funcionar en formacorrecta. Si el lquido entra en contacto con la piel, lave la zonaafectada con agua y jabn. D. INSTALACIN DEL NEBULIZADOR

1. Limpie/Desinfecte la Taza del nebulizador:Consulte la seccin E-F para limpiar y/odesinfectar su nebulizador antes del primeruso. Vuelva a armar el nebulizador.

2. Conecte la entubacin al compresor:Inserte

un extremo de la entubacin Wing-Tipa lasalida de aire del compresor. Debe ajustarsebien (Fig. B).

3. Cargue el Medicamento:Abra la Tapa dela vlvula de inspiracin del nebulizadorlevantndola (Fig. C). Vierta el medicamentoen la taza del nebulizador. Nunca sobrepasela lnea de llenado mximo de 8 ml.

4. Conecte la boquilla o mascarilla:Si usa la

boquilla, conctela a la salida del nebulizadorcon la vlvula de expiracin mirando haciaarriba. Luego, conecte la tapa de la vlvulade inspiracin al presionarla con firmeza a laparte superior del nebulizador (Fig. D). Si usauna mascarilla, consulte las instrucciones de lamascarilla.

5. Conecte la entubacin a la taza delnebulizador:Presione con firmeza el otroextremo de la entubacin Wing-Tipa la

parte inferior del PARI LCSprint (Fig. E).6. Inicie el tratamiento:Sintese en una posicin

relajada y recta y coloque el compresor enON.

7. Posicione el nebulizador:Colquese laboquilla en la parte superior de la lengua ycierre los labios alrededor de ella. Inspireen forma lenta y profunda. A medida queinhala, se abre la vlvula de inhalacin.

8. Respiracin:Si usa boquilla, inhale y exhalelentamente por la boca. Cuando exhala, lavlvula en la boquilla se abre para permitirque escape el vapor exhalado. Si usamascarilla, colquesela sobre la nariz y laboca e inhale y exhale lentamente.

9. Finalice el tratamiento:Contine hasta quese acabe el medicamento o escuche unsonido suave de chisporroteo. Apague elcompresor.

ENTUBACIN WING TIP

Es normal si aparece humedad o condensacinen la entubacin durante un tratamiento. Estopuede ser un efecto natural de la temperaturade su entorno. Si sucede esto, finalice eltratamiento y luego desconecte la entubacindel nebulizador. Deje el otro extremoconectado a la salida de aire del compresor y

djelo funcionar por algunos minutos. El airetibio del compresor secar el interior de laentubacin. Use un trapo hmedo para limpiarel exterior de la entubacin.

1. Desconecte la entubacin de la entrada deaire ubicada en la parte inferior de la taza delnebulizador.

2. Si hay humedad (condensacin) en laentubacin, permita que el compresor

funcione slo con la entubacin conectadapor 2 a 3 minutos. El aire tibio delcompresor secar la entubacin. De maneraalternativa, puede secar la entubacin alextraerla del compresor y colgarla con losextremos mirando hacia abajo para permitirel drenaje y la evaporacin de cualquierrastro de humedad (condensacin). Use untrapo limpio para limpiar el exterior de laentubacin.

3. Desarme las piezas del nebulizadorreutilizable como se muestra en la pgina 3.

4. Lave todas las piezas con agua tibia ydetergente de platos lquido. NO LAVE LAENTUBACIN.

5. Enjuague las piezas del nebulizador reutilizablecuidadosamente con agua tibia y sacdalaspara botar los restos de agua.

6. Deje secar al aire las piezas del nebulizadoro squelas a mano sobre un pao limpio ysin pelusa. Vuelva a armar el nebulizadorcuando se hayan secado las piezas ygurdelo.

7. Tambin puede lavar todas las piezasdel nebulizador reutilizable en la bandejasuperior de una lavadora de platos. NOLAVE LA ENTUBACIN. Coloque laspiezas del nebulizador reutilizable en la rejillade la lavadora de platos y luego coloque larejilla en la bandeja superior de la lavadorade platos. Extraiga y seque las piezasdespus de que finalice el ciclo de la lavadorade platos.

ADVERTENCIA

PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE INFECCIN:1. El nebulizador es para uso individual

(un paciente) solamente. No compartasu nebulizador con otros pacientes.

2. Debe desinfectar o esterilizar regularmenteel nebulizador entre tratamientos. Si nolo hace, el paciente puede contraer una

enfermedad grave o fatal.

F. DESINFECCIN SUNEBULIZADOR REUTILIZABLEPARI

1. Limpie el nebulizador como se describe en laSeccin E. Para realizar una desinfeccin debajo nivel cada dos o tres das de tratamiento,

remoje todas las piezas del Nebulizadorreutilizable PARI (excepto la entubacin yla mascarilla) en una solucin de 1 parte devinagre blanco destilado y 3 partes de aguapotable durante una hora. Puede reemplazar eldesinfectante de equipos respiratorios (comoControl III) por vinagre blanco destilado (sigalas instrucciones del fabricante para la mezcla).

2. Enjuague cuidadosamente todas piezas delNebulizador reutilizable PARI con agua potabley squelas con un pao limpio sin pelusa.Deseche la solucin de vinagre cuando finalicela desinfeccin.

3. Las piezas del Nebulizador reutilizable PARI(excepto la entubacin y la mascarilla) tambinse pueden desinfectar al hervirlas en unrecipiente limpio con agua durante 10 minutos.

4. Los hospitales y clnicas pueden esterilizarlas piezas del Nebulizador reutilizable PARI

(excepto la mascarilla y la entubacin) enautoclave (un mximo de 277 F 136 C);siga las instrucciones de autoclave delfabricante.

5. Seque las piezas sobre un pao limpio y sinpelusa.
