April 23, 2014 Dear Parents, Early this evening, the school administration was informed that a former student teacher at Bill Woodward School has been charged with 10 counts of child exploitation that occurred during his tenure with the Fort McMurray Public School Division. Mr. Hancock was a student teacher working with Grades 7-11 classes from November 4th to December 5th of 2013. In his role as student teacher, Mr. Hancock organized and taught lessons to students in Language Arts under the direct supervision of his co-operating teacher. This is obviously very concerning for the community and the school as student safety is of the upmost importance to us. The school counselor and myself will be going to the grade 7 to 11 classes in the morning to talk to students about the information that has been made public.
