The painting was created from a vantage point in the middle of the Millenium Bridge. From here I could scan the view from one side of the Thames to the other. As I painted I contended not only with the elements, but also with tourists, runners, striding commuters and even classes of school children, many of whom paused to look over my shoulder. Others hung around longer than a pause!

I worked with watercolour, painting each section of my 180° view onto a piece of I worked with watercolour, painting each section of my 180° view onto a piece of paper about A4 size. Eventually I painted forty five separate pages that formed a work fifteen pages wide and three pages high. When I mounted them together the panorama of the London skyline from Millennium Bridge was presented as a unique art work nearly four metres long.

Rather, it is designed to represent different glimpses of the panorama that any walker across the bridge may catch. Glover’s work has been in exhibitions of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (2008), Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2009), Lynn Painter -Stainers Prize (2010), BP Portrait Award (2011) and the ING Discerning Eye (2014).
