Palm Sunday begins the greatest jour-ney in the history of the world. It is a journey that is contained in a few small steps but one that has remade the face of the world. It is the journey of salva-tion history that we, as Christians cele-brate in the Paschal Mystery; the life,
death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is a week of time, reflection and getting ready. The time we enter into is often busy as we prepare for Easter Sunday, perhaps with travel or guest ar-riving. The reflection we rest in is our looking into the eyes of Jesus seeing his love for us exposed in the passion. We are also getting ready, to receive the greatest gift of love, the gift of life offered to us from the cross which is transformed into the tree of life. (Continued page 2...)
El Domingo de Ramos comien-za la jornada más grande de la historia del mundo. Es un viaje de unos pequeños pasos pero que ha rehecho el rostro del mundo. Es el camino de la histo-
ria de la salvación que nosotros, como cristianos celebramos en el Misterio Pascual; la vida, la muerte y la resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesu-cristo.
Esta es una semana de tiempo, reflexión y prepa-ración. El tiempo al que entramos a menudo esta ocupado mientras nos preparamos para el Domin-go de Pascua, quizás con preparativos para viajar o para recibir a invitados. La reflexión seria en nuestra mirada a los ojos de Jesús viendo su amor por nosotros expuestos en la pasión. También estarán llenos y ocupa-dos. Los invito a que inviten a familiares, amigos y vecinos a que nos unan en la Parroquia de Santa Lucia. Los invito a orar por aquellos que deciden no asistir o han perdido su fe en Dios. Hemos orado por el regalo que Refresca y Renueva Tu Vida y hemos sembrado las semillas para el crecimiento espiritual en nuestros corazones y en nuestras fami-lias.

Our Holy Week and Easter liturgies will be celebrat-ed in the joy of the Gospel, the culmination of all that has been promised through salvation history. They will also be full and busy. I encourage you to invite family, friends and neighbors to join us at St. Lucy. I invite you to pray for those who choose not to attend or have lost their faith in God. We have prayed for the gift in which we Refresh and Renew Our Lives and have planted the seeds of spiritual growth in our hearts and in our families.

We were blessed to have Eric Piczon, at one point in the day, give us a tour and show us the beautiful St Patrick's Chapel. CARITAS 46 RETREAT
Christus Ministries, a young adult ministry for men and women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, will be holding the Caritas 46 retreat near Santa Cruz May 4-7 (Thursday to Sunday afternoon). Caritas is a retreat experience for young adults that has helped people explore God’s love and voice in their lives. It creates a safe and sa-cred space among young adults to explore their honest feelings and thoughts about love, God, and meaning-ful relationships. The Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 21:1-17) tells the story of Jesus' triumphant ride into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. On Palm Sunday we celebrate this story which marks the be-ginning of the “Holy Week.”
The children in the catechesis have learned about Palm Sunday, the Holy Week and the Paschal Mystery. Also during Lent, they learned how to practice the spiritual pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting and alms-giving.
As we approach to the end of Lent, we have being collecting the CRS Rice Bowl boxes of the children in their classes. If your child still do not return it, please bring the filled boxes to the parish office during office hours. The donations collect-ed will go to hunger and poverty allevia-tion efforts in the world and in our own community.
As we walk with Jesus through Holy Week, we call to mind the countless men, women and children who even today carry heavy crosses: crosses of hunger, of homelessness, of a lack of resources or security.
We must always remember that Holy Week gives way to East-er; the fast turns into a feast. As we prepare to celebrate Easter joy, it is our responsibility as members of God’s one human family to share that joy with everyone, near and far.
El Evangelio de Mateo (Mateo 21: 1-17) cuenta la historia del viaje triunfal de Jesús a Jerusalén montado en un burro. El Do-mingo de Ramos celebramos esta historia que marca el comien-zo de la "Semana Santa".

Anuncios Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations
Pope Francis said: "Behind and before every vocation to the priesthood or to the consecrated life there is always the strong and intense prayer of someone: a grandmother, a grandfather, a mother, a father, a community."
Please join us in our "Eucharistic Adoration for Vo-cations" every Thursday, at 3:15pm-4:15pm We will ask the Lord to open the hearts of His children that they may discern God's Holy Will; We will ask Him to inspire in them a love and desire to surrender them-selves to serving others in the name of Jesus Christ.
The next Praise Night at St. Patrick's Seminary will be on May 5th, Friday at 8pm. Please join us in this event. It will be a night of praising and singing before the Most Blessed Eucharist. The address of the seminary is: 320 Middlefield Rd. Menlo Park, CA 94025. Also, for those who can come early, you can join us to pray the Rosary at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at 7:15pm and to a tour of the seminary at 7:30pm.

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION FOR HOLY LAND: The Franciscans of the Custody of the Holy Land have the unique responsibility of caring for the Holy Places as well as caring for the Christians living in the Holy Land. It is important that we care for the Christians living in the Holy Land in order to main-tain a Christian presence in a land that is filled with a majority Jewish and Islamic population.
