FAITH FORMATION CLASSES
There will be no classes this evening, 3/20, to afford our families the opportunity to attend our parish’s Holy
Week Retreat. Also, there will be no classes next Sunday, 3/27, in observance of the Easter holiday. Classes will
resume at their normal time, 6:15-7:30 pm, on April
3rd in the Parish Center. Thank you to the 12-15 parents who attended our
weekly Lenten Tree activity during Lent. And thank you to
the thirteen people who attended our special “Passion Tea” on March 9th. Everyone
enjoyed the special reflections on the Passion of our Lord as well as
the del ic ious treats. (The Resurrection Rolls were the biggest hit!)
AND THE WINNERS ARE……..
Sadly we only received two entries for our annual Lenten Cross Contest this year so rather than have a vote, we are giving
both contestants prizes. Thank you Chenoa Baxter and Gail Gordner for sharing your time and talent with our parishioners. The crosses will be on display in our churches after Easter.
OPERATION RICE BOWL
We follow Jesus this week on our Lenten journey as he enters
Jerusalem, a community he knew well. CRS Rice Bowl asks us to prayerfully enter into our own communities, to find those who are
hungry and thirst, those who need our help. How does our Lenten journey motivate us to serve those we encounter in our daily lives?
Remember, our Salt and Light committee regularly collects items
for our three community food cupboards. Canned fruits, vegetables, and juices are this month’s highlighted items. Your contributions to
Operation Rice Bowl will be donated both worldwide (75%) through CRS and locally (25%). Receptacles will be available in all of our
churches next week to deposit your Operation Rice Bowl containers
in. If making a donation by check, please make your check payable to “St. Peter’s Parish.” Thank you in advance for your generosity.
GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION Christians around the world are united in a special way during
Lent, Holy Week and Easter. Our hearts, minds and prayers are also especially aware of the Holy Land. Once a year, on Good
Friday, we are called upon to support our fellow Christians in the
Holy Land, many of whom depend on this collection for their very lives. As a pontifical collection requested by Pope Francis, the
Good Friday collection offers us an opportunity to be witnesses of peace and to help protect the Holy Places where Jesus trod.
Through our donations, Franciscans and others in the Holy Land
are housing & feeding the poor, providing formation & education, maintaining shrines & parishes and conducting pastoral ministry.
Please be as generous as your abundance allows.

OUR PARISH’S WOMEN'S RETREAT
at Notre Dame Retreat House on beautiful Canandaigua Lake Dates: Friday night through Sunday Noon, April 1st-3rd Theme: Our American Catholic Heritage; Past, Present, & Future The Catholic Church has been an integral part of the American Nation from its earliest beginnings. Please join us as
we explore the following questions: Who are our American Saints
What does it mean to be an American Catholic
What is our image and our model of the Church
Are we a community of saints or a “hospital” of sinners
How do we fit into the larger worldwide Church
We already have 11 women attending from St Peter's Parish.
Please consider joining them. Contact Parish Leaders, Mary Ellen Darling or Donna Lannon, for more information. Sue Finewood
attended the retreat last year and shared this quote, “This retreat is the closest thing to heaven.”

the pain of loss and moving into the future with renewed hope. Our next weekend program will be held at Camp Stella Maris on
April 22-24. For more info, contact BE at (585)987-1750.
