For South Florida’s Longest Running Summer Music Festival Fort Lauderdale’s own Symphony of the Americas will pres- ent its 25th Anniversary summer music fesval, Summerfest, for one month of performances throughout Florida and the Americas from July 9–August 10. Acvies include concerts, master classes, and educaonal outreach, taking the master- ful sounds of this great ensemble to audiences in corners of the world who have never before experienced the exhilara- on of live orchestral performance. This fesval will highlight the “Best of the Best.” The Summerfest Chamber Orchestra will feature musicians and soloists who have parcipated in this Fesval over the past 25 years, including orchestras such as the Arpeggione Chamber Orchestra of Austria, the Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome, Hungarian Virtuosi, Italy’s I Musici and more, rep- resenng more than 10 different countries — performing several styles of classical and popular music for strings, all joined in cultural exchange by principal musicians of our own Symphony of the Americas. The Symphony of the Americas is a Broward County desig- nated Major Cultural Instuon and Broward Center for the Performing Arts is its performance home. Under the baton of Symphony Arsc Director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, orchestral concerts feature the music of Vivaldi, Mozart, Bloch, Fuchs, Piazzolla tangos, a com- missioned piece by Italian composer Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, a special arrangement of Lan favorites by Lan Grammy- Award-winning composer Eduardo Magallanes of Mexico, and more. Other soloists will include Summerfest’s Concertmaster Orlando Forte of Cuba; violinist Svetlana Forte; Symphony of the Americas principal flust, Marilyn Maingart and Georgian violinist Sandro Tigishvili. Join Us For South Florida’s Longest Running Summer Music Festival

Symphony of the Americas’ internationally acclaimed summer festival, Summerfest, has performed in theaters throughout the US, Europe and the Americas for 22 years. This year’s Summerfest features the Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome. This diverse group, in association with the Vatican, joins musicians of the Symphony on a musical journey from Italy to Central America.

Our twenty performances will feature Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Sarasate’s Habanera, the music of Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Cole Porter, and a world premiere by Italian composer & soloist, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, A Summerfest highlight features Panamanian composer and oboe soloist, Juan Castillo premiering his work in honor of the Centennial Celebration of the Panama Canal at the University of Florida, Gainesville.

Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese joined by Turchi-Floris, will lead this eclectic group of musicians from three continents, in unique musical repertoire offering an exhilarating perspective on musical cultural exchange.
