TRUE, NOT A RUMOR

Yes, the word is out! Katherine is getting married off to Petruchio! No one can believe that the impossible happened, all of the inhabitants of Padua were positive that Katherine would never get married!

THE CIVILIANS CONFESS

Katherine was never supposed to be married because of her ruffian attitude. Petruchio surely married for the money!

“In short, we’ve gotten along so well that Sunday is our wedding day.”-Petruchio Petruchio and Kate’s wedding was really something to see! Petruchio entered very late, not to mention wearing the worst habiliments! Upon being married, Petruchio and his rowdy behavior took off immediately before the feast dragging Katherine behind. With Petruchio’s wanton behavior, he believes that he will become a shrew tamer and make Kate (his new wife) be obedient to him. “Ha! Rumors, rumors, rumors! As we now hear that Petruchio has casted some sort of spell to tame his horrid wife.“I will train her like one trains his falcon…” Petruchio speaks. After days of battling out their marriage, had Petruchio really found a way to control the shrewish, disobedient Katherina? Petruchio starves her; tells her that the bed she is supposed to sleep in is marred and not clean enough for her, and that the habiliments the tailor has brought her are too cheap for her. He traps her in a room, discomforts her, only to see her coming back to him, finally learning a lesson. “…She will beg and beg for tranquility till she finally learns to obey me, like a falcon returns to his trainer.” Not only has he tamed her, but also she is oblivious to what he may say or do to her the witch has been manipulated in the love of her dear Petruchio.“Thy husband is thy lord, thy life, thy keeper, thy head, thy

Baptista’s on the search! He is in desperate need of a tutor and a musician for his daughters Katherine, and Bianca. Upon being deceived by his last tutors, Baptista is looking for some new and trustworthy. People throughout all of Padua to be interviewed. Whoever becomes the new tutor is bound to be rich! Baptista is looking for a math and music.

Who will it be Bianca? Turkey man or young sweetheart. It is for you to pick seeing as Katherine is now ‘happily’ married. Turkey man (or potatoe head) aka Hortensio disguises himself as a musician to teach Bianca how to play an instrument. While looking like a complete fool, Luciento (disguised as a tutor) mysteriously clues Bianca that he is in love with her. Her? Or her money? Luciento gives everything he has to offer to dear Baptista Minola. But dear Bianca doesn’t quiet trust Lucientio fully at first. Who would trust a random stranger dressed in tights?“Now let me see if I can conster it. Hic ibat Simois, I know you not,

But Hortensio, on the other hand, is indeed an old friend of Petruchio’s, who first insisted that Petruchio and Katherine should get married. Baptista’s more interested in his daughter marrying this guy while Bianca seems to fall more on Luciento’s side. Who will it be? Stay tuned.-Lina Abuhamdieh
