Walking Club: Frequently Asked Questions:

What type of clothing should I wear & what should I bring with me on a walk?

We advise if you are partaking in a walk to wear clothing you can move comfortably in and

supportive footwear. Wear layers on colder/wetter days. Also bring a drinks, a packed lunch and

snacks, as we cannot guarantee that you’ll be able to purchase food at walk destination. Always

bring money along in case you need to pay for tickets etc. How do we buy tickets to destinations?

The Walking club has found over the years that the best way of purchasing tickets is with one person

buying a group ticket and then being reimbursed on the day. Please note we cannot use senior

railcards as this causes to many problems with difference in price of tickets. What if I’d like to stay at the walk destination?

If we are heading to a destination that you wish to stay on at the end of the arranged walk, you

must tell the group leader before they purchase the group ticket. You will have to buy a separate

ticket which may cost more.

If however you’re included in the group ticket you will have to return at the same time as the group

that you have travelled to the destination with.
