Like the eyewitness accounts in today’s scriptures, the glorious and joyful life all around us helps us to believe the good news of the Resurrection and sing “Alleluia!” In the scriptures today we hear from Peter and Paul and John. All three speak with conviction about wit- nessing the resurrected Christ. John’s Gospel account includes Mary of Magdala, who also was privileged to witness the Resurrection and tell others the good news. On this glorious Easter Sunday can we our- selves give eyewitness accounts that Jesus Christ is risen today, alive and active in our lives? Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Mosaic TV on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ Sunday, April 8, 5:30 am KPIX television Channel 5, CBS Bay Area sfarch.org/mosaic-tv “Some women from our group have astounded us: they were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find his body…” So reported two disciples, about the crucified Jesus of Nazareth, to a stranger they encoun-tered on the road to Emmaus. And since that first East-er morning, the world has remained astounded—intrigued, moved, inspired, sometimes confused or repelled—by this report of a God-man who was cruel-ly killed and rose again from the dead. The stranger on the road turned out to be Jesus himself. Does He still say to us what He said to those disciples: “How foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Mes-siah should suffer these things and enter into His glo-ry?” On this episode of Mosaic, Fr. John Boettcher, instructor in Sacred Scripture at St. Patrick’s Seminary and University, discusses the Res-urrection of Jesus Christ, its mean-ing and its power, its purpose and its proofs. Prior episodes of Mosaic are archived on the archdiocesan website (above).

THE RETURN OF EASTER The return of Easter should be to the Chris-tian life the call of a trumpet. It is the news of a great victory. It is the solution of a great perplexity. It is the assurance of a great triumph. —Frederick Temple

Are you or someone you know dealing with or challenged by the end of their marriage? The Archdiocese of San Fran-cisco has a special ministry for men and women who have experienced the pain of sepa-

ration and divorce. We believe that the Church has a rich treasury of people, Holy Scripture, tradition and pastoral ministry on which it can draw to serve its members whose marriages end in divorce. We strive to lay open this wealth and make known Christ's abundant healing love so that all who suffer from separation and divorce might experience healing, recon-ciliation and new life. We also recognize that separated and divorced people, through their vulnerabil-ity, suffering, courage, faithfulness and patient endurance bear witness to Christ and His redeeming grace in the world. They are not mere recipients of the Church's compassion; they are as well, ministers of that compas-sion. “May the church be the place of God's mercy and love, where everyone can feel themselves welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live according to the Gospel." - Pope Francis "The Church is definitely against divorce, and divorced people are strongly against divorce as well, but the Church isn't against divorced people." - Father Al Grosskopf, SJ. The Catholic Divorce Ministry has a meeting to answer questions and offer help, at the support group that meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month, 7:30 P.M. at the Parish Center, St. Stephen Church, 451 Eucalyptus Drive, San Francisco. Please contact Fr. Albert A. Grosskopf, S.J." <[email protected]>or call him at 408-884-1729 for more information.

—Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copy-right © J.
