“Jesus looked at them and said “For human beings this is impossible,

but for God all things are possible” -Mathew 19:26

I was raised Catholic but I was the kind of Catholic that would only go to church when it fit into my schedule. My wife Lupe wasn’t Catholic when our life first started to-gether but she soon went through the RCIA and I was her sponsor and became Catholic. Going through this process together with my wife brought us closer to God and we were now going to church every Sunday. We were not involved with any ministries at this time and didn’t have any relationships with our community. We always sat in the back of church during mass and never felt we had to tithe. We also avoided any church functions that the church would offer during the week or weekends. This is where we felt comforta-ble at this time of our lives. But things were about to change. Through participating in ACTS retreats my wife and I both learned the secret of being a follower of Christ. That we must put God first and serve others. We started joining one ministry at a time and the joy you feel when you are a part of the community blos-soms into so many friends. Also, there is a feeling of peace in your heart that you can only get from serving others.

Many people think I have always been an extrovert and that I have never been shy. I was very shy growing up and would have never imagined me doing the things that I am a part of now. This is proof that God does amazing things in our lives if we just let Him. My wife and I now budget our money so that we can give to our church and the Annual Catholic Appeal first, before all of our other bills so that we can help our parish and the Archdiocese. This is a great feeling to know that we are a part of this community not only with our time but with our treasure as well. We know now that this is what the early Christians did and God will always provide for us, no matter how tough it gets. My wife and I still struggle from time to time and have good days and bad, but we know that we are on a pilgrimage here in this life and that God’s Will for us is to know Him and Love Him and one day be with Him in heaven.

–Paul Lopez, Chairman of Parish Council

- Paul Lopez– Concilio Pastoral

Ministers to the Homebound are parishioners who serve on behalf of our parish community. They bring Holy Communion to and pray with those who, because of age or infirmity, cannot join us for Sunday liturgies. These ministers recognize the importance of maintaining a faith relationship with those who may often feel disconnected from full participation our community. Ministers to the Homebound: • Are good listeners and observers; • Have quiet patience; • Are empathic and understanding; • Bring the presence of Christ to those they visit. If you possess these qualities and are interested in this ministry, or are a current minister in need of renewal, training will be offered:
