InfoComm India 2015

To showcase the incubated ideas from industry players and experts, Infocomm India 2015 Roadshow, nations foremost pro-AV and Info-Comm Technology Show was organized at The Lalit, New Delhi on 22nd July 2015. Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering attended the event. The seminar on “Integrated Digital Solutions for a Smarter India”, was also organized at InfoComm India 2015 in partnership with FICCI, National e-Governance Plan and Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. Mr. Jonathan Seller, Sr. Director of Development Asia-Pacific InfoComm International explained that InfoComm International is the leading resource for AV market research and news and deals with training and education programs, along with its separately administered Certified Technology Specialist and corporately administered Certified Audiovisual Solutions Provider credentials, set a standard of excellence for AV professionals.

Launch of Windows 10 in India

Microsoft launched with much fanfare its new operating system Windows 10, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on July 29, 2015. Mr. Bhaskar Pramanik, Microsoft India Chairman and Windows Director Mr.Vineet Durani opened Windows 10 to the Indian market. Microsoft celebrated the milestone of launching Windows 10 with 13 events invited from all over the world. The event was titled 'Do Great Things' carrying the message of 'I Do' as a promotional strategy of Windows 10. Many Microsoft Employees, Windows Insider, Media, MICs, MSA & MSPs were invited in the launching program. Windows Insiders were invited to check out Windows 10 PCs and demos.

Tech for Good 2015 Women Hackathon

The exclusive Women-Only Hackathon “Tech for Good 2015“ sponsored by AMERICAN EXPRESS was held on 22nd August 2015 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Nine students, Bharti Sachdeva (16039), Aarushi Madan(16001), Aarusi Tuteja(16002), Kavita Fulara(16080), Mandisha Sharma (16085), Mansi Sharma(16089),Monika Yadav(16954), Jyoti Chauhan and Priya Yadav (16955) from CSE Department of Dronacharya College of Engineeirng ,Gurgaon attended this Event. The event was aimed to develop apps for NGOs that started with the formation of teams and followed by the selection of projects for developing apps and discussion of problem statements by the NGOs.

Microsoft Cloud Data DevCamp

Microsoft organized an event “Web DevCamp” at Microsoft Corporation (India), Gurgaon on 26th August 2015. Six students from Computer Science and Engineering department namely Rahul Rana (16124), Suruchi (16166), Zeba (16181), and Shubham Sharma (16152) from 3rd Year and Ria Arora (17114) and Puneet Saini (17108) from 2nd Year attended this event. The objective of this event is to introduce the participants with new languages and use them for building innovative websites. Mr. Sudhir Rawat (Big Data Engineer at Microsoft INDIA R&D Pvt. Ltd.) delivered the session.

Networking Reception for women in technology

Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a nonprofit organization, organized an event “Networking reception for women in technology” sponsored by Americam Express to inspire and connect the women

technocrats. The event was held at ITC Maurya, New Delhi on 27th August 2015. 300 women technologists attended this event and 40 girl students from Dronacharya College of Engineering,

Gurgaon belonging to ECE, CSE, CSIT & IT department along with faculty member Mrs. Sanghamitra V. Arora, also participated.

NPTEL Online Certification To enhance the programming skills, students from Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the NPTEL online course: “Introduction to programming in C. LEADearthSHIP- TERI-GENPACT YOUTH INITIATIVE

“Leadearthship”- A youth initiative that aims at creating and empowering the next generation of youth leaders to contribute meaningfully to achieve sustainable development and play a proactive role in building a low carbon society was launched in 2013. On 14th September 2015, phase III launch of this leadership program was organized by TERI and GENPACT at Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The programme was attended by Ayush Aggarwal(17033), Bharti Sehrawat(17036), Deepak Sharma(17043), Gaurav Pandey(17051) and Gautam Chutani(17053) from Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. Ms. Ranjana Saikia, Director, Educating youth for sustainable development, Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI), gave a brief on the aim of LEADearthSHIP which is a platform for future youth leaders in India.

Economic Times-“The Power of Ideas”

On 19th September 2015 Economic Times organized “The power of Ideas” which was attended by five faculties namely Ms. Pankti Brar, Assistant professor & Mrs. Renu, Assistant professor, Department of Computer Science & Enginnering, of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon at Sri Sathya Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, Delhi. The event started with a motivational and inspiring talk by the keynote speaker Mr. Navneet Singh, CEO and Co-founder of “Pepper Tap” which is a grocery delivery chain, who narrated his life story. According to him to become a successful entrepreneur one needs to be dedicated and have a passion of doing something own. An entrepreneur should be bold enough to face challenges and have immense patience to go through the struggles.

IEEE DILLIWALA QUIZ COMPETITION

IEEE Jamia Hamdard Student Branch organised a “IEEE Dilliwala Quiz Competition”, a Delhi Quest at Jamia Hamdard University on 30th September 2015. Twenty two students, from Department of Computer Science & Engineering of DCE, Gurgaon participated in the competition. It was a daylong event in which students from different colleges and universities of IEEE Delhi chapter regions took active participation. The quiz comprised of questions based on commercial and political Delhi including names of historical monuments, roads, fort, statues, and places.The First round comprised of twenty questions, followed by some asterisk questions that were considered in case of tie between the teams and second round was audio-visual round with five questions .

91 Springboard And Microsoft Present Start - Up Sync

Microsoft and 91 Springboard organized a Start - Up Sync where students were invited to network with start-ups, technical community leaders and to discuss on the various Microsoft Azure products in India.

"Atmos'15"

SenseFil Technologies organized a two day workshop on "Six Sense Reality" at "Bits Pilani, Hyderabad Campus" during their fest "Atmos'15" on 10th-11th October 2015. Mr. Akshit Chauhan (15007) of CSE department from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon delivered the session on Six Sense Reality. Akshit Chauhan in his lecture explained the concept of six sense. He said that SixthSense' is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information.

Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz

To celebrate innovations, creativity, Swedish contributions to the development of the world and the strengthening of relations between India and Sweden, “Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz” was organized by The Embassy of Sweden in India along with prominent Swedish businesses at Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi on 16th October 2015. Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive, Gurgaon

Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive, one of the most massive flagship events undertaken by the Entrepreneurship cell, IIT Kharagpur was held in Ansal University, Gurgaon on 23rd October 2015 in association with Mahindra Rise. Several students from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event. Our Campus Ambassadors Priya Yadav, student of Computer Science Engineering and Vikrant Singhal, student of Civil Engineering coordinated at the venue. The sessions were graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Prajakt Raut, Co-Founder at Applyifi and Founder at the Hub for Startups, Mr. Vineet Singh Co-Founder, CEO Buildzar.com, Mr. Hari Kishan Nallan Chakravartula, Co-Founder and CEO at Think Design, Mr. Harsh W. Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. All it takes to be an entrepreneur is to have the courage to stand up for one’s own dream. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Dronacharya College of Engineering inaugurated Entrepreneurship Lab in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Acharya Narender Dev College, Delhi University on 29 October 2015. Mr. Sanjay Vohra, working as head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre and incharge, UDGAM at Acharya Narender Dev College along with Mr. Ravi Gupta, an entrepreneur inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Lab. The purpose of establishing this Lab is to make students self reliable and boost confidence amongst them that they could take risk to have their own start-ups and manage businesses.

Microsoft organized a two - day event named “Office 365 Education Partner Dev Camp” to introduce Office 365 API’s at Microsoft Corporation (India), DLF Phase - 2, Gurgaon from 26th - 27th November 2015. CSI 50th Golden Jubilee Annual Convention on “Digital Life

To celebrate 50th Golden Jubilee, Computer Society of India (CSI) organized four day Annual Convention and series of Board Meetings from 2nd -5th December 2015 at FICCI Auditorium, Delhi and Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management, New Delhi. Mr. Vijender Singh Hooda, Associate Professor & CSI Branch Head, DCE, from Department of Information Technology and Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the convention. Prof. Bipin Mehta discussed about various areas such as Digital Connectivity, Bharat Net Program, and Digital Lockers.
