3DDI Plugin Installation (Windows) – Regular License This section describes how to install the 3DDI Plugin on Windows and how to activate the software license.

Note: The instructions in this section support version 2.24 and above.

To install the 3DDI plugin:

Run the file named Optitex 3DDI.

Click the I accept the agreement radio button and click Next.

Enter your User Name, Organization and Serial Number and click Next. The Select Destination Location dialog appears.

To set the installation folder to another location, click Browse and set a different folder. Click Next to accept the default folder location, or to proceed after setting a different folder.

The Select Components dialog appears:

Select the Illustrator versions you want to install and click Next.

The Ready to Install dialog appears:

Click Install.

The installation process starts:

Once the installation is complete, the Completing the Optitex 3DDI Setup Wizard message appears:

Click Finish to finish the installation process.

3DDI Plugin Installation (MAC) – Regular License This section describes how to install the 3DDI Plugin on MAC and how to activate the software license.

Note: The instructions in this section support version 2.24 and above.

To install the 3DDI plugin:

1. Run the file named Optitex 3DDI.

Click Continue.

Click Continue. 2. Review the End User License Agreement

Click Continue.

3. Select the Installation Type

Click Continue.

4. To set the installation folder to another location, click Change Install Location and set a

different folder.

Click Install to accept the default folder location, or to proceed after setting a different folder. 5. Enter your User Name, Organization and Serial Number.

Click Next.

Click Ok. 6. Click Close to finish the installation process.

Optitex TurboFloat Server License Installation (Changed Server Location) The following are the installation instructions for the TurboFloat license, for when the TurboFloat server location has changed.

To change the IP settings (host address) on the client computer:

1. Run Adobe Illustrator and then open a 3DDI window. The 3DDI plugin cannot connect to a server and the following message appears:

2. Click Yes. The Settings dialog appears.

3. Enter a correct IP (host address). Click the Test Connection button to verify the

connectivity between the client and server.

4. Once the connectivity is ok, you will get a message saying that it was successfully

connected to the server. Click OK. 5. After applying this change, the client 3DDI plugin will be configured to use a new host

address. 6. If you changed the server location, the new IP address on the client (3DDI Plugin) can

also be also configured using the TFServerConfig.xml file.

7. Open the file:

8. Change the IP address and save the file. 9. Run Adobe Illustrator, and then run the 3DDI Plugin. The 3DDI plugin is loaded using the

new IP settings.

Support Information for the 3DDI TurboFloat License Server Information regarding the TurboFloat Server can be gathered from the log file (tfs-log.txt) that the TurboFloat Server maintains, and the log file (3DDI.txt) that the 3DDI plugin maintains.

The TurboFloat Server logs all changes/requests that it receives and the 3DDI plugin logs all responses it gets from the server.

These log files can be found at the following locations:

• Server - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Optitex 3DDI TurboFloat Server\tfs-log.txt • Client (Plugin) - C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\3DDI\3DDI.txt

Note that there is no way to monitor the server remotely. If there is a connectivity problem, you should send these log files to IT support at Optitex.

Installation Instructions for TurboFloat License Server and 3DDI Plugin Client The following sections describe how to install a TurboFloat license and 3DDI plugin on server and client machines.

The server should be installed in a system on a local network. This system will act as the server for clients that want to access the TurboFloat License Server. The server can be installed on Virtual Machines. A server installed on Windows should be accessible from Windows and Mac clients, meaning the same server will serve both clients. The licensing mechanism works as a client-server, so it must be run on the same network.

Optitex TurboFloat Server License Installation (Windows) – Server This section describes how to install the Optitex TurboFloat Server License on Windows.

Note: The instructions in this section support version 2.24 and above.

Note: Mac users can use a TurboFloat Server license installed on a Windows machine.

To install the Optitex TurboFloat Server License:

1. Run the file named Optitex TurboFloat Server.

2. Click the I accept the agreement radio button and click Next. 3. Enter your User Name, Organization and Serial Number and click Next.

The Ready to Install dialog appears:

4. Click Install. The installation process starts. Once the installation is complete, the Completing the Optitex 3DDI TurboFloat Server Setup Wizard message appears:

5. Click Finish.

Note: A successful installation means that the server is installed and activated with the product key you entered.

3DDI Plugin Installation (Windows) for TurboFloat License User – Client This section describes how to install a 3DDI plugin in order to use a TurboFloat license server. You will need to use the same product key that you used when you installed the Optitex TurboFloat license server.

To install the 3DDI plugin:

Run the file named Optitex 3DDI.

Click the I accept the agreement radio button and click Next. Enter your User Name, Organization and Serial Number (the same product key used when

you installed the Optitex TurboFloat license server).

Click Next Enter the IP Address for the server that hosts the TurboFloat server. Leave the Port Number

as is and click Next.

To install the 3DDI plugin:

1. Run the file named Optitex 3DDI_2.01.

Click Continue.
