The project team overcame seemingly insurmountable challenges (record rainfall ring a bell anyone?, site access challenges, movement area restrictions, etc.). The innovation employed in the project, the amazing collaboration displayed among project team: contractor, designer, OPS, DPS, FAA, etc., and the value of the lessons learned have a direct application on the next runway rehabilitation project and future airfield projects.

VICE PRESIDENT’S AWARD
Labor shortage is a pressing need for the design/construction industry. Rather than talking about the issue, these three individuals did something about it. Their collaborative partnership was used to build and strengthen DFW’s ties to the local communities, specifically to the youth of our communities through the development of DCC’s first internship program.
