SAFETY REGULATIONS
This operator’s manual provides relevant information on installation,
handling and maintenance of JB Attachments Multi Grapple. The warning
texts explain potential risks and how to avoid them. Observe all safety
information carefully.
DANGER
Do not attempt to install, use or perform maintenance on the attachment
before carefully reading all the information on the attachment and base
machine. Make sure there is no one in the work area when connecting or
disconnecting.
WARNING
Faulty installation can be dangerous and cause serious injury, death or
damage to the machine. Make sure that the recommended servicing and
maintenance are performed on the machine.
Limit of Liability
JB Multi Grapple is designed and manufactured to our customer’s safe use and
maximize productivity, profitability and efficient work. Never try to upgrade the
equipment’s maximum capacity by making modifications not approved by supplier.
Check the limits for tipping load before installation to minimize risk of accidents.
UNIT
SI Units (International System of Units) are used in this manual according to ISO and EN
standard.

2. Safety information
All the machine’s instructions and decals for instance warning signs must be clearly
legible at all time.
- Place the base machine and multi grapple in
a safe area and make sure there is no one at
work site.
- Risk of moving parts. Risk of personal injury.
- Read the instruction manual.
- Insert safety pin of quick coupler after installing
Multi grapple.

- Faulty installation can be dangerous. If the pin is not inserted correctly, it may cause
broken pin.
- Wear proper fitting safety goods such as goggle, helmet,
Shoes and etc. Do not wear hem under loose-fitting.
3. Installation
3-1 Instruction

* Place excavator arm with a quick coupler as shown in above figure.
Mark measure of “A” on excavator arm.

* Connect the quick coupler to the multi grapple.
C.
Hook
* Pull the arm close to the cab and put the grapple on the ground.
* Position the hook at where it will be attached.
(Attention)
- Check position of the hook by moving the grapple as shown in above figure.

Pre-welding
* Make a pre-welding at 3~5mm below the position of the hook.
(Attention)
- 1.0 ~ 3.0 ton Mini grapple (mark under 3mm)
- Over 5.0 ton grapple (mark under 5mm)

* Disconnect the grapple and weld the hook.
(Attention)
- In case the arm has ribs on it, the hook can be welded on the ribs.

3-2 Connection of the attachment
Bucket Mounting
Grab Mounting
●
Connection of multi grapple is similar to bucket.
[Process]
A. Lift the grapple by connecting it to the welded hook.
B. Pull the arm to the cab and the hook of quick coupler will be connected to the
bracket pin of grapple.
C. Make sure the grapple is connected to the bracket pin and fix the grapple.
D. Check movement of bottom part of the grapple by using bucket cylinder.

3-3 Angle Control
● If the angle control unit is not used as shown as in left-side figure, tooth of grapple
will be dragged and it makes the grapple hard to grab objects.
● Angle control unit allows the upper body of grapple to stretch out and it will make the
grapple easier to grab object close to the cab without moving the machine.
● Angle control unit is provided with smaller grapples under 7 tons that are often used in
smaller spaces.
● Angle control unit is available as an additional option for 13~14 tons since it is not
necessary to have it in larger working spaces.

4. Use of grapple
* Overuse of grapple will damage not only the grapple but also the machine. When
grabbing object, do not swing fast which can break the balance of machine.
* Do not use the grapple as other purpose except grabbing. Misuse can reduce
lifespan or/and failure of structure.

* Make sure the grapple grab object completely. Dropping object can cause a serious
accident.

5. Maintenance
5-1 General
[Daily maintenance check]
That the grapple and pin are not cracked or damaged
Connection between the machine and grapple
Bending of grapple arms (both bottom and upper)
Security of the pins, bolts and nuts. (Double nuts required)
Any noise will cause abrasion.
5-2 Grease
Before reapply the grease, remove all foreign materials from the attachment.
Apply enough amount of lubricant
3 times a day is recommended and must be applied right before use of grapple.

6. 6. Warranty
6.1 Policy
JB ATTACHMENTS provides following warranty. All products and spare parts are
provided with warranty term of 12 months or 2,000 operating hours from the first
user’s installing date, or 15 months from date of shipment, which is the sooner. This
policy bases on the condition of use. Product and spare parts should be operated
and maintained by this manual.
6.2 Terms
6.2.1 Domestic
Expiration of warranty term is based on the first arrival either 12 months or 2,000
operating hours.
6.2.2 Overseas
Warranty term cannot exceed 15 months from the B/L date. After 15 months,
manufacturer's warranty term will be terminated even the product is maintained as
non-use or installed 12 months.
6.3 Contents
All delivered products by JB ATTACHMENTS should be checked for defects,
damages or missing parts to assure performance upon arrival by a dealer. The
dealer shall write and report any problem within 10 workdays.
In case of transportation damage shall be claimed by the dealer directly to the
shipment and handling company. Any case of the damages shall be recorded on the
shipping documents and the claims have to be made immediately. JB
ATTACHMENTS has no responsibility for this matter.

JB ATTACHMENTS will respond and inform to a dealer for any claim within 48
business hours.
6.4 Limit of liability
Even if within the above warranty period, following exceptions will not be covered by
JB ATTACHMENTS.
a) Defect or failure because of existing foreign materials in hydraulic system
b) Defect or failure because of contaminated hydraulic oil under poor maintenance
c) Defect or failure because of using non genuine parts
d) Defect or failure because of unauthorized modification
e) Defect or failure because of overuse or abuse
f) Defect or failure because of neglecting safety, inspection and maintenance
instructions from this manual
g) Defect or failure because of careless handling
h) Modified, erased or damaged PIN Plate
i) Non performance related changes such as color and shape
j) Operational failure due to improper procedure during the transportation
k) Following spare parts are not related to Doosan Infracore. These are
consumable commercial items.
- Various type of oil pressure seal
- Various type of connecting parts
- Oil pressure flange hose type
- Other consumption parts
l) Normal wearing parts

6.5 Charge
6.5.1 Condition
Condition of customer free repair covers only the genuine parts replacement for
warranty period. After expiration of warranty, the replacement parts will be sent by
JB ATTACHMENTS when payment has been made. Any defects, problem or claim
must be notified to JB ATTACHMETNS within 10 work days.
6.5.2 Old parts
Please return the old part for our research and development, when JB
ATTACHMENTS requests to do so. For some reasons, the defected parts cannot be
collected by JB ATTCHMENTS than we have right to request to customers or
dealers to provide photos or other documents instead of real parts.
6.5.3 Charge
After warranty replace part, labor charge, travel expenses and other considerable or
optional work expenses will be billed. It will be added into the total payment.
All of charges, expenses and etc will be counted by only actual time and expenses.
Calculation of work hours, labor charges and expenses are based on JB
ATTACHMENTS company standard rate.
6.5.4 Transportation
Transportation of replacement (free repair) is based on standard inland trucking and
ocean by vessel, other special transportation method such as express parcel or air
freight must be approved by the JB ATTACHMETNS in advance. Also JB
ATTACHMENTS does not acknowledge the cost occurred by customer’s own
modifications or repairs.

6.6 Succession
When change in ownership occurrence within the warranty period, than the
remaining warranty may be successes to the new owner.
