    Week 2 emerging insights

    Discussion questions:

    ▪ Reactions or further perspective

on these points▪ Larger themes of data creationand usage and technology areunderlying drivers of some ofthese insights. Are there other, broader themes that connectthese?

    Emerging insights

    ▪ Good talent management processespresent in parts of Human Capital, notconsistently replicated elsewhere in centraloffice

    ▪ Transportation and operations strategy useof data to drive results (50% increase inbus timeliness in just 3 months) can bemodel for data driven culture at BPS

    ▪ Frustration across ELL, Academics andSPED about silos and lack of alignment forstudent services

    ▪ BPS has a facilities issue:

     –  Annual funds are just 1/10 of estimatedcurrent deferred maintenance costs

     – Back of the envelope estimates ofneeded renovation in the $3-$4B range

    HIGHLY PRELIMINARY
