INTERGEO

WORLD NO. 1

FOR THE GEOSPATIAL

COMMUNITY!

VENUE FOR 2017: BERLININTERGEO is a meeting point for experts and decision-makers from the worlds of politics, science and industry on an international stage in Germany’s vibrant capital.

THE TOPICS: EXCITING. CURRENT. PIONEERING.Use the trade fair and conference to experience and discuss GEO IT’s constantly evolving applications and future trends. Entirely in keeping with its long-standing motto “Knowledge and action for planet Earth”, the event in Berlin will cover ground-breaking developments and applications with drones plus hot topics such as smart cities and digital planning/building projects (building infor-mation modelling), including virtual and augmented reality. With COPERNICUS as one of its headline topics, this year’s conference acknowledges the growing importance of remote surveying from space. Very aptly given that Berlin is hosting the event this year, open data and open government are further key focal points.

Don’t miss out! Join the geospatial community!

Our event website has everything you need in terms of travel arran-gements, accommodation and tips for a perfect stay in Berlin. It also describes specialist INTERGEO excursions that will provide exciting insights and experiences to complement the conference programme.

PROF. HANSJÖRG KUTTERER

DVW PRESIDENT

PROF. MANFRED WEISENSEE

DGFK PRESIDENT

Dear Sir/Madam and fellow members of the industry!

Three years have passed and it is time once again for INTERGEO and the German Cartography Conference to invite you to this major event in Germany’s capital city, Berlin. Don’t miss out on this wonderful chance to immerse yourself in the geo-community!

Everyone’s talking about the digitalisation of our surroundings, working environment and everyday life – Geoinformation 4.0, BIM and smart cities are just some of the most popular terms. Innovative forms of capturing data – COPERNICUS, UAVs and other mobile procedures – are becoming increasingly crucial to an extremely wide range of applications and call for innovative processing and presentation methods. These developments have a direct effect on our sector!

INTERGEO and the German Cartography Conference will be addressing precisely these issues. Presentations and discussions with eminent experts will offer appetising food for thought and suggest viable solutions. We will also be looking at future career paths for geodesists. And the choice of Berlin as host city means that themes such as eGovernment and open government will top the agenda. Come and be a part of the action!

We look forward to welcoming you to INTERGEO and the German Cartography Day in Berlin.

Prof. Hansjörg Kutterer, DVW President

Prof. Manfred Weisensee, DGfK President

The big step the building industry is about to take towards digitalisa-tion also directly affects the geospatial community. This development will be presented and discussed in great detail together with related disciplines at INTERGEO. The third dimension will take on a new, far-reaching significance, initially for surveying.

With the successful launch of Sentinel 2B and Germany’s CODE-DE platform, which has now been activated, satellite data is increasingly becoming a focal point of numerous new applications. This applies equally to surveying and cartography. The conference sheds light on these developments, also emphasising European aspects.

The DGfK – German Cartographic Society e.V. – will once again be holding its cartography conference as part of INTERGEO. The conference will highlight the importance of this discipline in an increasingly digitalised world. Cartography is constantly meeting new user requirements and this will also be demonstrated at INTERGEO. A scientific discipline is constantly reinventing itself.

The keynote speech of Klaus Vitt, State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, addresses important digitalisation issues. Digitalisation is important, but so is ensuring appropriate data security and data protection in both business and private applications. This is a key prerequisite for the transformation of our society.

In his keynote speech entitled “Transformation through Digitalisati-on” the President of Hexagon Geosystems Dr. Jürgen Dold will talk about the impact of digitalisation on the geospatial sector, its busi-ness models and its incorporation into macroeconomic relationships, and also about the form this might take in the future.

The digital transformation also directly affects the work of geodesists. In a stimulating panel discussion, new and changed requirements for this profession will be examined from various perspectives with a geodata management focus. The way the profession is practised and the training provided must adapt, but how?

GEODESIST 4.0 PANEL DISCUSSION

Our industry is undergoing a dynamic transformation and is increa-singly moving into related fields. This is throwing up many new chal-lenges for which solutions need to be found. The conference addresses key issues such as open data, georeferencing 2016 and GNSS as part of Galileo and discusses them in the international context.
