Ongaonga School Newsletter – 29th November 2017 - Term 4 - Week 7
Greetings to the Ongaonga School
Community.
Nga mihi nui ki a Koutou Challenge Our focus value of the week is challenge, specifically to maintain our high standards in learning and behaviour. The year is flying by and the next few weeks are very busy both inside and outside of school. We all get tired with the full schedule, hot days and all the socialising associated with this time of year. Look after each other and maintain our high standards.
Prize Giving Prize giving is a chance for us to formally celebrate excellence and achievement at Ongaonga School. Prize giving is on Monday 11 December starting 5.30pm at the school, if wet at the Ongaonga Hall. We will have a Contribution to School Awards on Tuesday 12 December starting at 9.15. We will also have our final assembly on Thursday 14 December starting at 11.30 to farewell all who are leaving particularly our Year 8 students and Mrs Pedersen who is retiring. On Tuesday 12 December students and teachers will move to their 2018 classes as part of getting to know each other and reducing the potential anxiety of what might be. Please support this transition process as how you react will be reflected in how your child reacts. Successful transitions are always positive.
Library Closure A reminder that the library is closing this week. Please check for any books both library and readers and return them to school for stock taking.
Garage Sale We have surplus seats, tables, shelves and other goods that we need to sell. Most of it is stored in the pavilion so we will bring samples out from Monday 4 December it will be displayed on the tennis court. I will open the pavilion from 8.30- 9 and 2.45-3.15 and by appointment thereafter. This week’s final word,
"You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself any
Direction you choose”
