OMNIplus-X Profitable airjet weaving

The OMNIplus-X continues to build on the

well-known OMNIplus 800 platform. The

options and features have been carefully

selected so as to give the perfect balance

between price and performance.

The OMNIplus-X is equipped with all ele-

ments essential for weaving: full electronic

control, SUMO main motor and micropro-

cessor-controlled fi lling insertion. The

machine is specially designed to weave a

wide range of styles, from light to dense.

The integrated electronics keep all drives

perfectly synchronized, for unmatched fab-

ric quality. Operation has been kept simple,

with maximum automation to stay ahead in

a volatile labor market.

Various features such as SUMO and ARVD

help to reduce energy and air consumption,

in order to beat rising power costs.3

ELECTRONIC TAKE-UP AND LET-OFF The integrated machine concept ensures the main drive is fully synchronized with all the other electric motors, such as the Electronic Take-Up (ETU) and the Electronic Let-Off (ELO). Both are fi tted as standard on the OMNIplus-X to ensure balanced warp tension during weaving.

AIR TUCKING This unique feature offers great ease of setting and maintenance. Tucking-in no longer places any limitation on machine speeds, unlike mechanical tucking.

CONTINUOUS REEDS The OMNIplus-X comes as standard with continuous reeds for fast width changes.

POSITIVE SHEDDING MOTION The OMNIplus-X always uses positive driven cam or dobby shedding motion devices in order to ensure the highest level of fabric quality. According to the fabric style to be woven, both symmetrical and asymmetrical cams can be fi tted, optimizing insertion time and fabric appearance.

DOUBLE TAKE-UP AND BACKREST ROLLERS These are fi tted as standard. This enables the highest density fabric to be woven without any risk of fabric marks. The modular system can switch to single rollers to create a dynamic, fast-reacting backrest for lighter fabric styles. This gives fl exibility to meet all market demands.

ROBUST STRUCTURE Proven Picanol design. Two solid side frames connected by large-section crossbars, with the sley driven at both sides by conjugated cams. This affords the required machine stability and the highest beat-up force, making it possible to weave any kind of fabric successfully. The machine does not have to be bolted to the fl oor, so the weaving room layout stays fl exible for future expansion.

PROGRAMMABLE FILLING TENSIONER Reduces the peak tension in the yarn at the end of insertion. Makes it possible to weave weaker, more delicate or elastic yarns at higher speeds.

DEDICATED SLEY CAM Makes it possible to weave the most demanding fabrics and yarns, thanks to optimization of the available insertion time.

SUMO MAIN MOTOR Assures the fastest machine start-up, with start-up behavior remaining stable in time. This technology is superior to any other drive system. Speed is adjusted manually at the touch of a button (standard feature) or automatically to ensure the highest production rate according to the fi lling presented. The SUMO is a must to achieve highest fabric quality.

UNIQUE DOUBLE AIR TANK The optimized pressure setting for acceleration and stretching of the yarn has a positive effect on the overall air consumption.

MULTI-HOLE RELAY NOZZLE Best performance/consumption ratio available on the market. As this nozzle also has the highest traction force, it is no longer necessary to compromise on weaving speed. The relay nozzle valves are positioned very close to the relay nozzles, to minimize pressure losses. Each valve only supplies two nozzles, to reduce the overall air consumption.

FIXED AND MOVABLE MAIN NOZZLES The most effi cient main nozzles. Adaptable to all types of fi lling yarn.

ARVD (PATENTED) Automatic optimization of relay nozzle blowing timings, saving up to 12% on air consumption.

SUMO MAIN MOTOR This highly effi cient main motor permits speed changes without the additional consumption for a frequency convertor (there is no FC). The short drive further ensures low power consumption (fewer gears). Recuperation of brake energy (between SUMO main motor, electronic let-off motor, electronic take-up motor and machine electronics) is possible thanks to a shared, integrated power supply. Elimination of clutch and brake system reduces the power consumption by another 10%. Finally, the lower heat dissipation means less air conditioning is required.

ELECTRONIC FILLING CUTTER Maintenance-free. The cutting time is set electronically and forms part of the integrated controls. Mechanically the cutter moves on the same support as the temples, for easy width changes.

ELECTRONIC WASTE CUTTER Maintenance-free and can be set with just 1 screw.Makes it very easy to set the maximum possible production speed for a given style.

ELECTRONIC SPEED ADJUSTMENT Machine speeds can be set and adjusted on the machine display. Changing the speed can be done in real time using Multispeed. This makes it very easy to set the maximum possible production speed for a given style.

FORCED LUBRICATION The high-pressure oil pump brings oil from the central reservoir to machine parts that require constant lubrication. The oil is constantly fi ltered and the pressure constantly monitored, assuring long lifetime for crucial machine parts. Centralized lubrication is far more reliable then splash lubrication. As for maintenance, the oil can be changed very quickly as all the oil can be taken from the central reservoir.

AUTOSPEED Adapts the machine speed to the behavior of the fi lling yarn. Information from the fi lling detector is centrally processed, and if conditions permit the microprocessor changes the machine speed and adapts the other machine settings to the new situation – all fully automatically. Meanwhile, the machine stop level is constantly monitored, to make sure that limits set by the user are not exceeded. Autospeed can afford speed increases of 3 to 5% on average.

FIX-A-MARK Avoiding starting marks has never been easier. All available functions and tools have been brought together in the Fix-A-Mark overview screen. The user can adapt the machine behavior in a very easy way, following observations made on the fabric itself.

E-LENO Rotary leno with left-to-right crossing timing set independently by the microprocessor: a guarantee of maximum fl exibility in setting.

PICANOL INTEGRATED CONTROL SYSTEM Links all features of the loom into one integrated unit. The different loom functions are perfectly synchronized with each other. The new LDEC main drive communicates with the take-up and let-off drives through the motherboard. This permits insertion parameters to be recalculated automatically for speed changes – another example of how the OMNIplus-X makes life easier for the machine operator.

LCD DISPLAY The terminal monitors and controls all the main machine functions. The system displays diagnostic data and stop causes, so avoiding search time for stop detection.
