President’s Message 23rd February

Our tour of the kitchens at Jupiter’s Casino followed by the buffet at Food Fantasy was enjoyed by all.

Diets went out the window as members and guests piled plates high with a huge variety of whatever they

fancied. I had to use all my willpower not to go back for a second helping of dessert. Liz Hamilton did a

tremendous job organizing the visit and negotiating an excellent price for the buffet.

I must also acknowledge Liz for all her work in getting a Channel 9 crew at the University Hospital on

Thursday the 25th

of February. It took patience and persistence to coordinate the various hospital

departments and appropriate staff. The purpose of the exercise is to publicise the donation of Carousel

funds which have purchased the Light Writer, Vein Finder and portable ECG. This equipment is not

covered by government funding.

Kelsey Curtis was unable to attend our meeting on the 16th

of February due to illness. She wanted the

club to know that she is really grateful for the sponsorship to RYLA this year. Kelsey is donating $100 to

sponsor someone else to RYLA next year. We hope to have her visit the club with her grandfather, Tony

Stenton, sometime in the future.

DGE Michael Irving has requested help with assembling 350 folders for people attending PETS and the

District Assembly. Volunteers are invited to join us at the Golf Club at 5.30 p.m. next Tuesday to fold

and enjoy fellowship before the meeting.
