Sir Gwain & the Green Knight the 40th Aniversary of the Barony of Care Anterth Mawr was a beautiful and relaxing event. We enjoyed camping with long time friends, and we set up our entire pavilion.
The event was held at lovely Ledge Park in Horicon. I most highly rec-ommend it for day trip of walking along the cliffs, or camping in the lovely hard-wood forests.

Dear Shire, We put our pavilion up at the Sir Gawain & The green Knight Event wich was the 40th anniversary of The Barony of Caere Anterth Mawr. The pavilion has walls now and is coming along beautifully. I bring you pictures to show you our progress.
As you can see here, we have a bit of work to do on the frame to get the canvas taut. However, it is far enough along to work well as a camping pavilion, it even withstood rather windy con-ditions. We got a lot of compliments from other event goers, as well as some great help and advice from Duke Corin and Duchess Myfanwy (Fancy). Our future goals include: Modifications to make it easier to set up and take down. Inner walls and furnishings Exterior decorations A banner for up top Better door closures Improved wheel and spoke design Etc. Here you see the attachment of the walls to the roof. This is a compromise to ease of set-up, as ties or toggles and loops would be more period correct.
Crab apples from the woods near our home were well re-ceived. The leftovers were canned as pickled crabapples.
Running a rope around the bottom of the roof helped the pavilion hold its shape in the wind.

Minutes from the September 20 Moot by Lady Anna Meyer We met at the long-house and had a lovely but brief moot, followed by an even lovelier lunch of hearth baked bread and sausage and delectable gifts from the shire populous. Officer Reports: This humble scribe failed to take notes of the officer reports, If anyone needs to add anything I will gladly re-publish the officer reports next month. Other Business: Further discussion was held reguarding the Archery backstop will need to be replaced very soon. A discussion ensued about what would be necessary for purchase. Recommendation was made to purchase inexpensive archery foam targets now on sale due to the fall hunting season. Some discussion was made of the recent release of Drei Schnittbucher (three Austrian master tailor books of the 16th century) translated by Katherine Barich and Marion McNealy. This should be a great resource for later period Germanic persons. After lunch, most of the attendees retreated to the house for team meetings for the upcoming Griffin Needle Challenge. This year there will be ten teams, which is more than I ever before recall. If you are interested in sewing, you should definitely check it out on the Kingdom Calendar.
