NALS OF LANE COUNTY
NALS of Lane County will hold its next monthly educational meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the law offices of Harrang, Long, Gary, Rudnick, 360 E. 10th Avenue (3rd Floor), Eugene. Adam Shelton, Esq., of Arnold Law, will be our guest speaker and will discuss juvenile law issues and practice in Oregon. Topic details will include the interplay between the juvenile court system vs. in-home safety plans, standards of representation for children and parent clients, as well as the role of a child’s attorney in other legal avenues. Mr. Shelton is a former clerk for Youth, Rights, and Justice. Send your RSVP to Charlene Sabini, PLS, ALP, Director of Education, via email at [email protected].
As always, the class is free and worth one (1) CLE credit for those who are accumulating the credits. When you RSVP, please let me know if you’ll need a CLE certificate so I can bring one for you.

LANE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION LUNCHEON
Join the LCBA on Thursday, October 8, 2015, for a CLE presen-tation by Jacy Arnold and Ron Sticka regarding Family Law and Bankruptcy. The lunch will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Downtown Athletic Club (999 Willamette Street, Eugene). Bring a check to DAC in the amount of $15.00 per person made payable to the DAC. The November Lane County Bar Association Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2015. The program is dedicated to welcoming our new Oregon State Bar admittees and honoring our 30, 40, 50 and 60 year members. Please invite any new admittees you know and would like to introduce to your LCBA colleagues. To all new admittees, this is a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get to know the other local attorneys.

We have negotiated our annual contract to allow us to continue our monthly meetings at the DAC as this is a convenient venue with parking available. Please note the changes and let’s strive to make it a successful working relationship.
• The DAC requires advance notice of attendance. Please RSVP by Noon on Monday preceding the luncheon. You can do this on the Lane County Bar Website. So please mark your calendars for the 2nd Thursday of every month for the lunch, and why not be “pro-active” in schedulling the first Friday as your deadline for RSVP?
• The DAC has agreed to allow our Members to con-tinue to pay in-person upon arrival. Please bring a check to DAC in the amount of $15.00 per person to the DAC.

The Lane County Bar Association Debt-or-Creditor Section will be meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the 5th floor conference room of the Wayne L. Morse Federal Court-house. Kent Anderson and Dominic Paris of Kent Anderson Law will be presentingon tax issues in bankruptcy. CLE credit will be applied for. LCBA Employment Law Committee Meeting
The Employment Law Committee’s October meeting will be a free CLE brown bag lunch on Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Lane County Public Service Building, 125 East 8th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401 in the Board of County Commissioners Conference Room located on the Second Floor. GAVEL GANG UPDATE!
The Gavel Gang raised $10,345 for Relay For Life and the Ameri-can Cancer Society in our 2015 fundraising campaign. With such incredible support from the legal and business community, we continue to be a top ten team in the fifth larg-est Relay in the world. The 2016 season is our tenth year, and will begin with our Poinsettia/Wreath sale. The sale runs from October 5, 2015 through October 30, 2015, with delivery set for November 23, 2015. LCBA’s IP Section had its kickoff meeting on September 17, 2015 with a lot of energy and great ideas, attended by attorneys in private practice, in-house counsel and UO Law School IP faculty. The IP sec-tion will meet every other month
on the third Thursday from 12 to 1pm at Business Law Centre, 1158 High Street, Suite 101, Eugene for IP issue and case discussions in a book club format. The next meeting will be on November 19, 2015. EDWARD NORMAN FADELEY
December 13, 1929 – August 30, 2015
Edward Norman Fadeley passed away on August 30, 2015. Edward was a practicing attorney in Lane County for over thirty years. In addition, he served
in the Oregon State Legislature for 26 years and on the Oregon Supreme Court for almost a decade. His passing is a great loss and he will be missed by all who knew him
UO LAW SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND LCBA NEW LAWYERS SECTION SOCIAL
The University of Oregon Law School Alumni Association (LSAA) and the LCBA New Lawyers Section are hosting a social on Thursday, October 22, 2015, for local attorneys and current UO law school students who are interested in learning what it is like to practice law in Lane County.
