The Lane County Bar Association Debt-or-Creditor Section will be meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the 5th floor conference room of the Wayne L. Morse Federal Court-house. Kent Anderson and Dominic Paris of Kent Anderson Law will be presentingon tax issues in bankruptcy. CLE credit will be applied for. LCBA Employment Law Committee Meeting

The Employment Law Committee’s October meeting will be a free CLE brown bag lunch on Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Lane County Public Service Building, 125 East 8th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401 in the Board of County Commissioners Conference Room located on the Second Floor. GAVEL GANG UPDATE!

The Gavel Gang raised $10,345 for Relay For Life and the Ameri-can Cancer Society in our 2015 fundraising campaign. With such incredible support from the legal and business community, we continue to be a top ten team in the fifth larg-est Relay in the world. The 2016 season is our tenth year, and will begin with our Poinsettia/Wreath sale. The sale runs from October 5, 2015 through October 30, 2015, with delivery set for November 23, 2015. If you have any questions, need an order form, or if you would like to see pictures of available colors, please contact Sharon at [email protected].

LCBA’s IP Section had its kickoff meeting on September 17, 2015 with a lot of energy and great ideas, attended by attorneys in private practice, in-house counsel and UO Law School IP faculty. The IP sec-tion will meet every other month

on the third Thursday from 12 to 1pm at Business Law Centre, 1158 High Street, Suite 101, Eugene for IP issue and case discussions in a book club format. The next meeting will be on November 19, 2015. EDWARD NORMAN FADELEY

December 13, 1929 – August 30, 2015

Edward Norman Fadeley passed away on August 30, 2015. Edward was a practicing attorney in Lane County for over thirty years. In addition, he served

in the Oregon State Legislature for 26 years and on the Oregon Supreme Court for almost a decade. His passing is a great loss and he will be missed by all who knew him

The University of Oregon Law School Alumni Association (LSAA) and the LCBA New Lawyers Section are hosting a social on Thursday, October 22, 2015, for local attorneys and current UO law school students who are interested in learning what it is like to practice law in Lane County.
