although he will roam around the yard he scoots under the house when approached too close ¬ ly It is funny to see the alligator crawl under the spray from the yard hose when the water is running and he enjoys the shower like a kitten does sunshine It is also amusing to see the pet dog play with the alligator or at least try to for Joe only looks- on and with a not over friendly eye When Joe starts for his retreat the I dog is very brave and snaps and barks most valiantly but always stops short of the vicious looking jaws Joe is supposed to catch mice and keep the straw cats away for these night prowlers do not frequent- the premises The other night when Joes lord and master stepped on him he jumped some high and also said things which would not look well in print I Joes ramblings
