English https://www.literacyshed.com/the-clock-tower.htmlWatch this beautiful animation called ‘The Clock Tower’ all the way through and use it to carry out the following tasks:

1) Stop the animation at 9 seconds just as the camera goes through the gate and you can see the town for the first time.Write a paragraph describing what you can see. Try to be as creative as you can and use lovely descriptive language.

2) Write a paragraph where you are the dancer and explain why you are there and how you feel (e.g. did you get trapped there by a wicked witch). Are you sad being trapped as a cog in the clock or do you feel proud that the town depends upon you to make it beautiful?

3) Write a story based on the girl’s rescue. Think about how you will get the clock to work without her. Maybe an inventor saves her. You can be as creative as you want.

Remember to: · Use capital letters and full stops Use conjunctions to extend sentences Try to join some of your letters Use different types of punctuation , ! ? Check your work when you’ve finished

Maths Ongoing Tasks

To be able to count and spell all numbers up to 100.This is a really important skill. The easiest way to do it is to practise numbers to 20 first. Once you are confident with that, look at tens numbers (10,20,30 etc.) then the remaining numbers which should be easier once you have learnt the basics.Use The PowerPoint attached to help you.

English Ongoing Tasks

Use the list attached below ( page 4) to select 10 common exception words to learn this week. Make a word search with the words using the template below (on page 5) then challenge an adult to find the words you have hidden. As they find them, they read out the word and you have to spell it and write it down. If you get it correct, you get a point and if they do, they win the point from you. See if you can win.

Activity 1Talk about what we mean by a ‘significant’ (important) person.Look at the PPt attached about explorers / significant people. Which people do you recognise? If you don’t recognise any of them have a look at their names below and google one or two of them. Talk about why these people are significant. Then talk about who are the important people in your life.Next, look at the pictures (on page 19) of significant people and decide where you would put them on the sheet with the diamond shape (on page 18) made of blank boxes. Use the PPT to decide who might be more important. Put the person you think is most important at the top and the person you think is least important at the bottom. Remember to look them up if you aren’t sure what they did.

Write down the numbers with felt tips as you watch to help you remember later.Challenge:When you have watched the clip, go outside and draw a hopscotch grid and mark on it the numbers 1 -10. As you play, practise counting in French. Refer to your list of the numbers if you get stuck.
