Division of Nursing

Guiding Behaviors for the Learner

We support each other in serving our patients and communities

I will arrive to class on time. I will turn off or place on vibrate my cell phone/beeper. I will take responsibility for my own actions as a learner. I will portray a positive attitude.

We communicate openly, honestly, respectfully and directly

I will listen to you and not interrupt. I will be truthful in my communication. I will be thoughtful and considerate, and sensitive in my communications. I will replace criticism with positive ideas.

We are fully present

I will give my ‘all’ in the classroom setting. We are all accountable

I will follow through on my responsibilities as an adult learner.

We trust and assume goodness in intentions

I will demonstrate understanding and patience in my interactions.

We are continuous learners

I will develop expertise and share that with my team members. I will seek out opportunities and support changes to improve practice. I will seek out information and share what I have learned.

Pertinent Information

Nursing Education Website In an effort to provide on-going nursing education, the Office of Professional Practice has obtained an external website. The external website will allow employees an opportunity to participate in on-going education from a location outside of the hospital. The website address is www.HCteachme.com. To gain access to the website use the following username: Education and password: Education. This website has much helpful information including videotaped classroom presentations and links to pertinent websites. You will be able to obtain MNA contact hours by either attending a live class or viewing the videotaped presentation. Videotaped presentations will not be available until approximately one week following the first live presentation of that particular course. If you are viewing a class on-line, in order to receive MNA contact hours, you need to: 1) view the entire videotape; 2) complete the evaluation process on Survey Monkey; and 3) print your certificate. Registration Registration for courses is quick and convenient through HealthStream. Please follow the guidelines below. It is recommended that you check courses of interest regarding special registration processes that may apply. Registration is required for most courses (except as noted). Employees must register using HealthStream except for some American Heart Association Courses. For ACLS and PALS, registration should be made in the Central Staffing Office on the 1st Floor.
