View of Little French Key where the students love to jump in the water.

Little French Key By Fabienne Halloin

On a beautiful sunny day our 7th and 8th grade class was going to a field trip in Little French Key our teacher Mrs. Caroline gave us a guide to answer one we were at the reserve but she didn’t go with us are other two teachers Ms. Issee and Prof. Halan went with us.

The cutest animal for me was the baby jaguar, I have never seen one before. After looking at the rest of the animal we went to eat hotdogs after eating we talked for awhile. Then the teacher told us that if we wanted to go swimming we could because we had two hours left.

I really enjoyed myself hanging out with my friends when we would jump off the railing we were having a lot of fun when it was time to go so we all decided to jump all together it was the bomb to be with my friends even though we didn’t have that much time but I would always remember the fun we had that day.

Mother’s Day performance

Mother’s Day By Kristen Bodden

On this special day we cherish the memories our mothers have gave and done for us. That day we prepared an amazing presentation to honor how much we love them. There were models, amazing 7&8 playing the guitar, himno al madre from middle school go down, and funny poems from high school! We did all of them with love and care to show our queens how much we appreciate and love them. We also crowned our First NUNA mom of the year! It was Miss. Lourie Bodden. She also got a spa at La Piña. There were other prizes for other moms. We were all happy for the ''new Nuna mom'' and eager to find out who's next. We celebrate this day not only 1 a year but everyday because Moms are as precious as a diamond and sweet as a flower. Without them we wouldn't be here, and we couldn’t ask for anyone else.

Mr. Corey teaching us how to use the compass. Barefoot Fieldtrip By Victor Ferrufino

My name is Victor. I am going to talk about my experience in Barefoot. Miss Caroline took us to a guy, Mr. Corey, who would teach us about directions. He taught us how to use the compass, and its parts.

Then Mr. Corey put us in pairs, and I was with Kelab.

In the first exercise, we needed to put trust in our pairs, but Kelab did not trust me. He thought he was going to fall in water. We were doing the exercise close to water. For the exercise, one of the partners needed to have the compass and count some steps, that’s why Kelab did not trust me.

In the second exercise, we needed to do squares. All the teams failed only Allison and Kristen, Kelab and I did a quadrilateral.

Then everyone went to Wendy’s before we went back to school. It was the best experience; now I won’t get lost.

Practicing my poem in front of class

Making Poems in NuNa By Dylan Sende

My experience in making poems in NuNa was amazing. I really enjoyed making poems and reciting them to the school. I felt confident and proud of the poems that I made. I plan to make more poems in the future as a hobby and hopefully I can be as proud or maybe even more proud then my previous ones. Writing is a great way to express yourself if your ever angry, sad, happy, or depressed just try writing and maybe it can help you with your problem or help you speak out when no ones listening. That is why I like poetry and why this experience helped me.

Crazy Hair Day By Michelangelo Mirabella Bodden

In Crazy Hair Day, students come with a lot of crazy hair designs. In Nuna Academy, students came with the most hilarious ones ever. The students were exited to come to school on Crazy Hair Day.

So a lot of students came with pretty cool designs, but I came with stuff stuck in my hair. People thought it was the dumbest idea ever. But when the teachers started counting the votes. The winner that they picked was me. I had the craziest hair. That was the craziest hair of crazy hair day.

Meeting “The” Ms. Anita By Kelab Arch My best experience in Nuna was getting to meet the best teacher I have ever had in my entire life, Ms. Anita Gregory. To be honest, I really wasn’t looking forward to going to a different school, because you leave all your friends and you don’t really see them that often as you use to. Something changed my mind the first day of school at exactly 12:10 in the afternoon, I saw her.

Standing just a couple feet away from me, was the best teacher in the world. I didn’t even realize until class had ended, because I actually didn’t want it to end. She really changed my definitions of classes, and I did not expect it. Some teachers you might meet can be really mean or aggressive, but not Ms. Anita. She is kind, thoughtful, and sincere. She has a way to make hard work and homework fun, but normal enough that we still learn and not just goof around. She won’t just tell you to work on something and leave you there to try and figure it out without her explaining it to you.

When you don’t understand something, she won’t hesitate to help you, but you do need to speak up, because she not a mind reader (or is she)? She even found a way to make news fun. She found CNN Student news on the Internet, and since then, Carl Azuz was born inside of us. We normally watched one every day to catch up with news. Except that this is not one of those long news reports that your grandparents sometimes watch. It’s just a 10 minute video talking about the most important things to know. She will basically make your day go from bad to perfect in the blink of an eye.

She is very smart, pretty, and nice. Plus, she is very good at her job teaching us, and she has a lot of patience too. (Trust me, she needs it to make it through the day with us). I’ll be honest. We are pretty messy most of the times, but she has a way to get us all to do what she wants with no excuses from us. We don’t mind, because she is very good. We have a lot of respect for her, and it’s hard to have a bond like what we have with her. I know that most of the people who read might think, “oh wow, he wrote his article about his teacher, big deal.” I won’t care, because this is my article. I’m very happy that I got the chance to do it, because most students will have written it about a fieldtrip they went to. We did go to some fieldtrips that were really fun, but none of them to me can compete to how much fun I had in Ms. Anita’s class. I’ll miss her when she leaves.

That’s why I decided to write this article about her and I’m sure most of us in Nuna think she is an excellent teacher. Even the other teachers have agreed, which is clear proof that Ms. Anita is and forever will be an excellent teacher. I will miss her dearly, but she took the decision to become an even better teacher than she is now. I’m proud of her for getting this far in life. She will always be my favorite teacher, and I will remember her forever. I will always want her to teach me, otra vez.

We found the cache!

Mahogany Bay Field Trip By Allison Sanchez This was a fun field trip we did it with Ms. Caroline, for science class, we were learning how to use GPS, so like always Ms. Caroline have some fun ideas we went to Mahogany Bay to learn how to use GPS, at the same time we had fun looking for some GEOCACHES.

The first geocache we found was in a tree. I was the first one who found it. It was so cool, because we were looking everywhere for these little treasures. It was amazing.

When Ms. Caroline told us about it, it sounded really fun, so we joined the game. Then we started our own geocache. We added a geocache in our school. We have a lot of visitors from every part of the world. During this year we had visitors from Colorado, and they give us some little gifts. Thank you Ms. Caroline for this good experience!!

Beginning of the year bulletin board done by Ms. Anita

BEST FIELD TRIP EVER By Byron Connor

This field trip started one day when we in school and Prof. Jairo asked us if we wanted to play soccer at the artificial field in front of the mall with a couple students in Children Palace. Us the guys all agreed yes, and that we were up for it on a Friday, but then some rumors went around the school about it and Ms. Issee found out, so we decided to get her involved with it. Turns out she had better plans and ideas for it. She was thinking that we should do it during a P.E hour and go play at their school to make it more formal, so we all agreed. Ms. Issee started talking to Children Palace about it, and they said that it was ok, but Ms. Issee cancelled because she had to fill in too many documents.

After she cancelled she broke the bad news to us. We were devastated because we wanted to against Children Palace so bad, but Ms. Issee wasn’t done yet planning the soccer event.

On Tuesday, the day before we usually have P.E. at the end of the day, Ms. Issee printed out some notes and gave them to Ms. Caroline to give out to us. Ms. Caroline gave out the notes and we read them.

After reading the notes everyone was excited because the note said that our parents need to sign the permission slip for us to go play soccer at the synthetic field behind Eldon’s.

Learning Guitar By Brandon Noel James Jackson

Learning guitar was a very special thing to me, because I learned a lot of new things even though I was already learning from another music teacher. I really enjoyed myself, because I probably wasn’t going to learn a song called, “Stand By Me,” by Prince Royce.

For our Mother’s Day program, I was given the honor to play the base guitar, which to me was very special, because it would have been my first time playing an electric guitar.

After my dad bought me a bass guitar, which I am very excited about.

Now that I have a brand new guitar, I am looking forward to becoming a famous guitar player.

Learning guitar changed my life.

Our parents gave us all permission. When we got there we all picked out teams and started playing with a lot of energy. After an hour of playing, the game ended and my team lost by 3 goals, but we still were happy. After the game we got hungry so we ate Chinese food at a Chinese restaurant in French Harbour. After we ate we went back to class. It was the best field trip ever!
