Numeracy and other Curricular tasks for week beginning Monday 1st and 8th February 2021

Numeracy:

Task 1:

• This week we are beginning to learn how to subtract

numbers from one another. Watch the following clip:

Task 2:

• Everybody is doing the same worksheets this week as

this is a new maths concept that we are covering. Can

you please let me know how your child gets on with

subtracting numbers?

• I have placed a challenge maths sheet in the extra

resource folder for those that wish to give it a go.

in extra resources for extra practise. Hundred square and

number lines in week 4 folder.

Beyond Number: Months of the Year.

Task 1:

• Continue to practise ordering your days of the

week and months of the year. Go to following link

Task 2:

• This week we are going to look at the seasons.

• Discuss the seasons with an adult. What season

are we in now? What is your favourite season and

why?

Task 3:

• Print out your ‘Four season’s wheel’. Located in

the Numeracy channel-files-week 4. Use this

wheel to help you with the following worksheet.

• Worksheet in the above location. Cut out the

months of the year and stick them in the correct

order from January to December. Then stick the

correct seasonal picture in the box below the

month.

Art

Remember before Christmas

we made calendars that

showed a tree through the

four seasons.

This week can you be

creative and do a picture or collage that shows all four

seasons. Look at the examples in the pictures for

inspiration.

Health and Wellbeing

This week is 1-7th February is Children’s Mental Health Week.

In the other curricular areas-files-Health and Wellbeing-

Week 4 folder is a ‘Gratitude Scavenger Hunt’. Look for

things at home that fill you with a nice warm feeling, making

you feel happy and safe. Enjoy taking the time to find these

things.
