Dear Friends,
The Season of Christmas officially ends today with the Baptism of the Lord. Only 6 weeks ago I was at the Jordan River with 32 others from our parish. It was there that we renewed our vows of baptism and received the waters of the Jordan on our heads. (The picture is Fr Luis Gabriel pouring the water over me!) It was a wonderful experience.
Today, I take this opportunity to thank our parish staff for all their hard work during these last few weeks- beginning with the volunteer Christmas party up until today! Both of our churches and our exterior property were decorated beautifully this Christmas. It takes a lot of work to decorate and then to maintain everything and keep our churches and property clean and dignified. They did a wonderful job!
Finally, I take this opportunity to thank all of you for your active participation in our masses and services during Advent and Christmas. Our mass attendance continues to grow and each week we welcome 5 to 12 new families to our parish. This is a blessing! I am happy to report that your Christmas gift to the parish this year totaled: $58,016. This generous gift truly shows your appreciation for all that goes on in our parish and your true love for this Church. Once again, blessed New year you all of you and thank you for your support. El tiempo de Navidad termina oficialmente hoy con el Bautismo del Sen or. Hace solo 5 semanas estuve en el rí o Jorda n con otras 32 personas de nuestra parroquia. Fue allí donde renovamos nuestras promesas bautismales y recibimos las aguas del Jorda n sobre nuestras cabezas. (Por medio de Padre Luis Gabriel!) Fue una experiencia maravillosa.
Hoy, aprovecho esta oportunidad para agradecer a nuestro equipo parroquial por todo su arduo trabajo durante estas u ltimas semanas, ¡comenzando con la fiesta de los voluntarios hasta hoy! Nuestras dos iglesias y nuestra propiedad exterior fueron decoradas bellamente esta Navidad. Se necesita mucho trabajo para decorar y luego mantener todo y mantener nuestras iglesias y propiedades limpias y dignas. ¡Hicieron un trabajo maravilloso!
Finalmente, aprovecho esta oportunidad para agradecerles a todos por su participacio n activa en nuestras misas y servicios durante Adviento y Navidad. Nuestra asistencia masiva continu a creciendo y cada semana damos la bienvenida de 5 a 12 nuevas familias a nuestra parroquia. ¡Esto es una bendicio n! Me complace informar que su regalo de Navidad a la parroquia este an o totalizo : $58,016. The death of someone close to us can be difficult and challenging. During the meeting we have the opportunity to pray, listen and share. If you are not comfortable sharing…that’s ok! You can just come to pray and listen.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: In observance of the World Day of the Sick, St Bartholomew Parish will offer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during Mass on Tuesday, February 11 at 9 am in English and 7:30 pm in Spanish. All who are sick, elderly, facing surgery, or seeking the gift of God’s healing are wel-come to participate. The whole parish will be invited to join in prayer for those who are sick and for their caregivers
UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS: En celebracio n del Dí a Mundial de los Enfermos, la Parroquia de San Bartolome ofrecera el Sacramento de la Uncio n de los Enfermos durante la Misa el martes 11 de febrero a las 9 a.m. en inglés y a las 7:30 p.m. en español. Todos los que este n enfermos, ancianos, que tengan una cirugí a o que buscan el don de la curacio n de Dios pueden participar. Se invitara a toda la parroquia a unirse en oracio n por aquellos que esta n enfermos y por sus cuidadores.
PARISH MINISTERS MEETING: We will be offering two meetings for our parish ministers as we begin the new year. At this meeting we will also distribute the new schedules for the next few months February to May. The meeting for English speaking ministers will take place on Wednesday, January 22 at 6:30 pm.
REUNIÓN DE MINISTROS DE LA PARROQUIA: Vamos a ofrecer dos reuniones para nuestros ministros de la parroquia al comenzar el nuevo an o. En esta reunio n tambie n distribuiremos los nuevos horarios para los pro ximos meses, de febrero a mayo. Monday, January 20 we honor the civil rights leader. It’s a federal holiday. Our parish office will be closed. Evening parish group meetings will also be cancelled. The chapel will close immediately following the 9 a.m. mass.
Lunes, 20 de enero honramos al líder de los derechos civiles. Es un día de fiesta federal. Nuestra oficina parroquial estará cerrada. FILIPINO COMMUNITY: Special thanks to all those who assisted and contributed in this years first Simbang Gabi celebration. The 9 masses we were well attended! A donation of $2900 was made to our parish… we are grateful.

ROSARY SOCIETY: The Rosary Society recent made a generous donation of $1000.00 to our parish for Christmas. We thank all their members for their sacrifice and wonderful gift.

OUR LADY OF ALTAGRACIA We will celebrate the Patroness of the Dominican Republic with a mass on
Saturday, January 25th at 7:30 pm.
Fr Santos will be returning from Rome to celebrate that mass for us. All are invited to attend.

first Sunday of the month for a bilingual mass at 5 pm in the chapel. Following the mass there is a gathering with light refreshments in Heafey Hall. The next mass will

TAGALOG MASS On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass Is celebrated in
Tagalog for the Filipino community at 5 p.m. In the chapel. The next mass will be celebrated JANUARY 19 AT 5PM
INDONESIAN MASS On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is
celebrated in Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel Following the mass there’s always a reception in Heafey Hall. The next mass will be celebrated
JANUARY 24 AT 3 PM.

EVERY SUNDAY CHINESE MASS Mass will be celebrated in Chinese every Sunday at 1:30 pm in the chapel and every Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the chapel. Our Catholic Chinese family is growing at St Bart’s and this is a great blessing for us. Fr Peter Ma has been working closely with this community and we thank him for his efforts and hard work.
Our parish continues to grow- many languages yet one faith- brothers and sisters in the Lord.
NEED A LETTER FROM
YOUR CHURCH? In order to give letters of recommendation,
letters attesting to character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that may
have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those
documents be registered and be active members of Saint Bartholomew Parish
at least three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to people not
registered in the parish.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION There are two times every Saturday for
confessions in the main church: 4 pm and 6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the
Chapel. We now have two priests assigned during these times to make it convenient and
less time to wait. Please do your part…. come as close as possible to these confession times. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity
of God’s mercy and love.
NECESITA UNA CARTA
DE SU IGLESIA? Para poder otorgar cartas de
recomendación, de buen carácter moral, como para ser padrinos de algún sacramento
y documentos para propósitos legales o religiosos, se requiere que quienes necesitan
estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean miembros activos de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé por lo menos tres meses antes
de su solicitud. No podemos entregar ninguna certificación a las personas que
no cumplan con estos requisitos.
SACRAMENTO DE RECONCILIACIÓN Los sábados las confesiones en la
iglesia principal son a las 4 pm y 6:30 p.m., también los jueves a las 6:30 pm en la capilla.
Ahora tenemos dos sacerdotes asignados durante estos tiempos para hacerlo más
conveniente y menos tiempo para esperar. Por favor hagan su parte ...
Llegue lo más cerca posible a estos tiempos de confesión. Aprovechen esta maravillosa
oportunidad de la misericordia y el amor de Dios.
MASS BOOK 2020 The mass book for 2020 is now open!
Masses are offered for those living or deceased. The offering for each mass is $15. On Saturday at 5p.m. and 7:30p.m. we offer collective intentions which means we are
able to take more than one intention for the mass. If you have any questions,
please speak to one of the priests.
