We are a nationally focused high performance centre, Olympic and Paralympic training facility based at Sydney Olympic Park, reaching all regions of NSW. In partnership with the national high performance sport system and national and state sporting bodies we enable, impact and support targeted athletes, coaches and performance support staff to prepare for international competition. Performance is at the centre of all that we do and our people are our greatest performance advantage. NSWIS is committed to providing leadership development opportunities at every level of the organisation, eligible staff may be considered for Projects and/or Higher Duties where available and agreed. ROLE PURPOSE In consultation with the CA Technical Director – Road, the NSWIS Cycling Head Coach is responsible for the management and delivery of high performance coaching services to targeted NSWIS scholarship and talented athletes with the goal of optimising the performances of these athletes nationally and internationally at benchmark events, and preparing them for selection into Australian teams. The role primarily focuses on: Implementation of a high performance cycling strategic plan that aligns to the NSWIS and CA High Performance vision, values, success profile for the NSWIS program, with agreed sport and athlete performance outcomes § Planning, coordinating and delivering a high performance program, more specifically: Ø Improving, monitoring and evaluating athlete’s performances Ø Achieving agreed numbers of NSWIS athletes on national teams and squads Ø Achieving agreed ‘international standard’ progression and development targets with identified NSWIS scholarship athletes across the track endurance and sprint disciplines Ø Supporting athlete career and education pursuits § Providing direct coaching services to identified group of athletes as agreed, with a track endurance and sprint emphasis § Oversight of Assistant and/or part time NSWIS and CNSW Coaches § Identifying and supporting coaching solutions for NSWIS athletes when involved with approved National activities § Support CNSW Talent Squad and Regional Academy of Sport (RAS) initiatives § Drive communication and visibility of pathway to cycling network KEY CHALLENGES In consultation with NSWIS Management, NSO/SSO and Sport Partners, the key challenges will be: 1.
