Filmed fresh from his headline-making appearance in the title role of Siegfried in the Met Opera’s epic “Ring Cycle,” Jay Hunter Morris stars as the obsessive Captain Ahab, delivering a bravura performance. To mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s death, JFK: American Experience provides a fresh look at an enigmatic man who remains one of America’s most beloved and mourned leaders. The documentary offers a new perspective on his complicated private life, including his relationship with his wife, his close connec-tion to his younger brother, Robert, and his complex bond with his powerful father. It also reevalu-ates Kennedy’s strengths and weaknesses in the Oval Office as he navigated some of the

most explosive events of the mid-20th century—the disastrous failure at the Bay of Pigs, the urgent demands of an increasingly impatient civil rights movement, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the escalating conflict in Southeast Asia. JFK: American Experience airs in two parts, November 11 and 12, at

8:00 p.m. (CT). Then, tune in Wednesday, November

13, at 8:00 p.m. (CT) to investigate the dark

rumors of conspira-cies and mishan-

dled evidence surrounding the assassina-tion of John F. Kennedy as NOVA asks: Could modern investigators do better?
