It was a very special time for me and a huge honor to be given this award. I was able to talk about my sweet children in Guatemala and honor the school in a special way. Since my return from the States, I have hit the ground running. Two days after my return, I was able to participate in the graduation ceremonies at New Life. The 6th grade parents had named me ‘madrina’ or the ‘godmother’ of the 6th grade class. I was a participant in the ceremony and shared a few words with the class, encouraging them to take what they had learned at New Life and trust God with their future. I also escaped a few days with some close friends to spend some time with them for the last time. Then, on Wednesday, Sandra and I took the moms’ support group on a final outing to the beach. For many of them, it was their first time to see the ocean. I loved being able to share this experience with them. I shared with them all that I had learned from them and what I appreciated about them. We all had a special sharing time; and, of course, many tears were shed as well. It was a very special day with a lot of laughter, tears, and joy. It was a wonderful way to conclude my time with these women who have made such an impact on my life. I am very excited that one of our teachers at New Life who is finishing her degree in Social Work will be helping Sandra lead the group next year. This is a huge answer to prayers. Things have been moving so fast here as I conclude my time that it has been hard to reflect on my experiences and all that God has done in my time in Guatemala. I hope to share with you soon more of how I have seen Him move. I ask that you continue your prayers for all the teachers, students, and parents at the New Life School. Please pray that God touches the hearts of other therapists and volunteers to be a part of the school. Part of my heart will always be in Guatemala, and I know that I will continue to be involved in this wonderful ministry in the years to come. Thank you again for all you have done to support me and the school in my time here in Guatemala! ~Jennifer PS- See next page for pictures!!!!
