SIKKIM MANIPAL UNIVERSITY DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION NOTICE TO LEARNING CENTRES 1. The next University theory examinations are scheduled from 22.07.10 to 02.08.10. 2. The Timetable had been uploaded in the University website on 26.03.10 3. The Practical and Project examinations scheduled from 15.06.10 to 30.06.10 have since been completed. Regrettably, 617 students for projects & 329 students for practicals will have to reappear in these examinations in next session(and lose six months), since the concerned LCs had not obtained prior approval of the Examiners from the University. 4. During previous examinations, it had been observed that a few students were :-   Not carrying University ID Cards.  Carrying mobile phones to the Examination Centres.  Not maintaining the expected standards of conduct and decorum of the Examinations. 5. A very few Learning Centres had not:-  Taken approval for the Examiners for conduct of Project/Practical Examinations.  Submitted IA marks on time and in the prescribed format  Submitted the Project CDs, Project Titles and Marks Forms (FORM 1 & FORM 2).   Been using the official University email id (please note that the University will respond to your queries/mails only if these are received using the official email ID).  Supported the University efforts for conduct of robust and transparent Examinations. 6. UNIVERSITY ID CARDS: In spite of clear instructions that the Admit Card is valid only when accompanied with the University ID Card. Some students are not carrying University ID Card to the examinations. If any student loses the University ID Card, he should apply for duplicate ID Card to the Additional Registrar, Admissions immediately. 7. Mobile Phones: In spite of clear instruction printed on the Admit Card that possession of Mobile phones even in switch off mode will be considered as Malpractice, many students were found carrying Mobile phones to the Examination Centres.

Please note there will be no arrangements made by the University for safe keeping the Mobile phones for the duration of the

examination.

8.  IA Marks Submission: The IA marks should be submitted ONLINE only. After submitting the IA marks including for the

Projects and Practicals, you are requested to print the IA report and verify the marks submitted. Mistakes and discrepancies

(if any) will not be corrected / amended post the final date of submission of the IA marks. Once results are declared under nocircumstances any changes will be entertained. IA/Project /Practical marks submitted by hard copy will not be considered

for result declaration. The last date for IA marks submission is 05.07.10 

9.  Examination Regulations: These regulations cover all aspects of evaluation and include continuous evaluation (Internal

Assessment), Practicals, Project/Internship Evaluation and the Semester End University Examinations. These have been

uploaded under the LC Login ->Notices & Announcements ->Examinations on 23.04.10. 

10. Admit Cards: Admit Cards have already being dispatched to respective LCs. Admit Cards without the student photographs

and signatures are issued only in exceptional cases, where the proper photograph or signature is not available. Suchcandidates / students with mismatch of photographs/signatures should immediately contact the University helpdesk at 

[email protected] and lodge a complaint. E-admit cards are being made available at the LC login in the 2nd week 

of July 2010

11. Interference with the Examination Process: It has come to the notice of the University, that a very few LCs are trying to

influence the examination process. Kindly note that the results of the students belonging to such LCs may be declared Null

and Void. The concerned LC/LCs will be entirely responsible for the consequences.
