SUGGESTED DAILY ACADEMIC WORKLOAD - K - 3rd Grade: 1-3 hours daily - 4th - 8th Grade: 3-4 hours daily - 9th-12th Grade: 4-6 hours daily

Routines are very important for children during this time, so, whatever schedule you choose to adopt, it is recommended that you stick with it. Please note that these are only suggested times. Each student will work at a different pace.

GRADING - LCS will continue to assess and grade student work. - Skills and content will be assessed in a variety of ways. Assignments, quizzes, tests, etc. will be used. As we continue to develop

this program, the precise protocol for testing will be communicated. - Any questions about your child’s progress should be addressed directly with your child’s teacher(s).

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY - Parents, please resist the temptation of providing too much assistance to your child. If they are struggling or frustrated, encourage

them to reach out directly to the teacher during their office hours. - This plan is designed to focus on skills, be low stress, and promote independent student work with the appropriate instruction from

teachers. - We want students to be challenged, to reinforce previously learned skills, and to continue learning and developing new skills and

knowledge.

PROCEDURE FOR RETURNING AND PICKING UP ASSIGNMENTS - Elementary Campus

Completed assignments will need to be dropped off at the Elementary campus on Friday, April 3rd, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Assignment packets for the following week will also need to be picked up at this time. Boxes/bins will be arranged by grade at the student drop-off/pick-up location.

- Jr. High & High School Campus

Most teachers will have a procedure set up for submitting completed work via Family Portal. Friday, April 3rd from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. a bin will be located at the High School campus entrance to turn in any assignments that could not be submitted electronically. Please make sure that papers submitted include: student’s name, teacher’s name, and course/class name. A table will be located at the school entrance with any additional packets or information that a teacher may need to distribute. These packets will be labeled by grade and class. Each teacher will inform their students if they have a packet that needs to be picked up.

Drop-off and pick-up times for subsequent weeks will be communicated as needed via Family Portal.
