CHALLENGES

Standardize the traffic equipment including traffic cabinet, controller, video detection, MMU, BBS, Load switch, flasher, LED, Push button, Mast arm color and etc.

Keep the old cupper communication system running while building the new communication network.

Evaluate Traffic Central Software available in market and select one based on City's requirement

Evaluate Video Detection System available in market and select a system based on City's requirement

Evaluate and select CCTV central software

TRAFFIC CABINET

Upgrading the Shelf mounted one door P-44 traffic cabinet to advance rack mounted ITS double doors traffic cabinet.

Upgrading the shelf mounted NEMA TS2 controller to the state of the art ethernet base 2070 controller

Upgrading the traditional conflict monitor to the advance ethernet base MMU ( Malfunction Management Unit)

Adding BBS (Battery Back Up System) and external generator plug for emergency situation

VIDEO DETECTION SYSTEM

Upgrading the detection system from magnetic loop detectors and microwave detection system to the advance video detection system.

Standardized the detection zones for both arterial and side street and running the intersection fully/semi actuated during non coordination patterns.

Installation of DCMS (Data Collection Management system)including streaming video from each video detector to TMC (Traffic Management Center)

EMERGENCY VEHICLE PRE-EMPTION SYSTEM

Upgrading the standard pre-emption system to advance manageable CMS (Central Management Software)

Upgrading the outdated pre-emption phase selector with analog communication port to advance pre-emption phase selector with ethernet communication port enabling the system to be managed from TMC.

Adding the coding system to the City's fire department fire trucks and all other emergency vehicles.

Centralized the CCTV system for Traffic Division , Department of Public Works and Police Department.

Upgrading the traditional analog camera to advance high definition digital camera.

Upgrading the analog management software to the state of the art ITS management CCTV software.

Upgrading the backbone communication from twisted pair copper and mix mode fiber optic to single mode fiber optic.

Upgrading the network system from daisy chain to advance fiber optic full ring and collapse ring.

Upgrading the speed up to 10 GB

Upgrading the network system from modem to IP Gateway Network base.
