IntroductionMorph means “to undergo or cause to undergo a gradual

process of transformation”.Nokia Morph Device is theoretical future mobile device

based on Nanotechnology.Result of joint efforts of Nokia Research Center (NRC)

and Cambridge university.The morph demonstrate how future mobile

device might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile devices into radically different shaped.

Interaction with surroundings by the help of “Nanosensors”.

Sensing= Wearable sensor + NFC(Near Field Communication).

Wearable sensor for sensing the surroundings(can be worn on wrists)!!

NFC Technology would relay information by touch from sensor to phone, with maximum data rate of 424 Kbits/s.

Various Technologies UsedNano-enabled energyNanotechnology holds out the possibility that

the surface of a device will become a natural source of energy via covering of “Nanograss” structures that harvest solar power. At the same time new high energy density storage materials allow batteries to become small and thinner.

High energy density batteries are quicker to recharge and endure more recharge cycles.

Eco- friendly, i.e. recyclable.

Features and CharacteristicsFlexibility

Fibril proteins are woven into a three dimensional mesh that reinforces thin elastic structures.

Using the same principle behind spider silk, this elasticity enables the device to literally change shapes and configure itself to adapt to the task at hand.

A folded design would fit easily in a pocket and can be used as traditional handset whereas unfolded larger design could display more detailed information, and incorporate input devices such as keyboards and touch pads.

carbide etc. those results in formations which in microscopic view resemble flowers .

These formations are nanometer long and thick, can only be observed through electron microscope.

Each flower is made up of nanorods 15nm wide.

Made by blasting Zn containing compound with ultrasound, making it highly hydrophobic.

silicon grass, also helps in self-cleaning.

Droplets on the surface can be controlled by applying electric charges.

energy by covering it with Nanograss.

In Nanograss, the liquid electrolyte is isolated, hence electrochemical reaction does not take place until power is actually needed by the device. So, the battery doesn’t degrade over time.

Nanograss based batteries are ideal for long term and higher capacity.

Actually, Zno has piezoelectric and n-type semiconductor properties.

Nokia is exploiting these qualities to achieve strain-based electromechanical transducers—ideal for touch-sensitive (even direction-sensitive) surfaces.

are:How to  fabricate mechanical structures that can

be both transparent and compliant despite containing electronic and optical functions?

Which materials should be used so that they are high energy density storage materials and also allow batteries to become smaller and thinner, and also quicker to recharge and able to endure more charging cycles?
