Pope Tweets @Pontifex

How many times, in prayer, do we limit ourselves to asking for gifts and listing requests, forgetting that the first thing we should do is praise God’s name,

adore Him, and then go on to acknowledge His living image in our brothers and sisters.

From the Pastor

I am happy to share some exciting news (at least for me) with you. I am happy to take

advantage of a “Trip of a Lifetime.” This summer I will join some family members to go on an

African Safari.

Eleven of us: One brother, one sister-in-law, a nephew and a niece – and their spouses

and children (four of them) and me.

Fortunately for us, Father Greg is around for the summer and the coming school year and is more than happy to fill in for me while I am away. Therefore, from July 22 through August 10 there will be NO DAILY MASS (Monday through Saturday) offered. Father Greg will celebrate the weekend Masses (Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 and 11:30 a.m.) those three weekends. He will also be available for funerals

and any pastoral and emergency situations.

During this time we have scheduled work to be done in and around the church. This

includes repair to masonry work on the church steps, walkways, and access ramp; installation of a

push-button access (handicap) on the main church door and one accessing a restroom; and substantial

improvements to the church sound system.

Volunteers for Harvard Square Churches Meal Program

It is that time again when St. Peter's sends over volunteers to the Harvard Square Churches Meal Program to fill the gap for the college volunteers who have left for the summer. We will try to send up to 5 volunteers each week. The dates available 7/18 through September. Volunteers check in at 4:45 p.m.; the doors open at 5:00; and the meal is served at 5:30. Clean up usually wraps up by 7:30. Please consider signing up for a week or two or more this summer by using this online sign-up site:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050E4DAEAF23AAFE3-harvard or calling or emailing Fr. Lenny at 617-547-4235 x143, [email protected].
