1.0INTRODUCTION TO NOTTINGHAM MALAYSIAN GAMES 2011

Date: 2nd November 2011

To Presidents, Committee and Members of respective Malaysian Societies in the UnitedKingdom and Eire,

The Nottingham Malaysian Society cordially invites you to attend the 27th NottinghamMalaysian Games. The first inception of Nottingham Malaysian Games (NMG) was in 1985,introduced by the Nottingham Malaysian Society (NMS) committee. From then on, thenumber of participants increased gradually and in 2009, the record was broken and thenumber of dignitaries, participants and supporters, was more than half of Malaysiansstudents currently in UK and Ireland where they congregated in Nottingham for the event.Presently 5,000 students attend this event from 56 universities all over the United Kingdomand Ireland.

2. The Nottingham Malaysian Games received Special Recognition in 2009 as the BestEvent awarded by the Student Union of Nottingham University. Furthermore, theNottingham Games has always been held in conjunction with the Malaysian Food Festival,where authentic and delicious Malaysian cuisine is catered to all attendees of our games.

Details of this years Nottingham Malaysian Games are as below:

4.0 GENERAL TENTATIVE

DRESS CODE: SPORTSWEAR & CASUAL

0630-0730: Registration and Arrival of Contingents

- If your contingent is coming by bus, the bus parking venue has yet to be confirmed.Please check our website for further updates.

- Security personnel will greet you at Sport Centre entrance. Please enter through theWest Entrance as it is a direct route to Sport Centre

0730-0800: Enter Sport Centre

- Spectators and players for all games must stay in Sports Centre and attend theOpening Ceremony. Football players and netball players who have their gamesscheduled at Powerleague and Highfield Park are allowed to miss the OpeningCeremony and go directly to report themselves to the Quarter Masters.

0800: Opening Ceremony

0830: All Sporting Events begin

0900: Malaysian Food Festival begins

1000: Talk Shop begins

Between 1830 to 1930: Closing Ceremony

5.0 REGISTRATION (IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO ON ARRIVAL)

1. Registration is at 6.30am to 8.00am.2. ONLY the Heads of Contingent are required to register their university

contingent at the registration booth in front of the Sports Centre (SC). Please print and present your CONFIRMATION SLIP to Nicole Yau uponregistration.

3. A TAG for each sport registered will be given by Nicole to the Heads of Contingentas a confirmation after registration.

- This TAG will be given to Quarter-Masters upon registration by Players4. Fixtures for players will be given upon registration.5. No registration by the Heads of Contingents can be made through phones.6. All Head of Contingents shall hold on to at least one copy of CONFIRMATION

SLIP for self reference.

7. All Head of Contingents shall provide a valid phone number for emergency purpose.8. Absence of any players must be put on notice upon registration.9. If there are any emergencies or if your contingent will be late for justifiable

reasons, please call Nicole Yau at 07562837985 or any late attendance of

players will result in disqualification and no refunds will be applicable.

10.All players have to report to the respective Quarter-Masters at their respective venues afteropening ceremonywith the tags that was given upon registration.

- Players who do not report themselves to the Quarter-Masters of respective gamesbefore 8.45am will be disqualified.

11.Highfield Park Netball Players and Football Players must arrive at theirrespective venues (Highfield Park & Power League) before 8.30am to report

themselves to Quarter-Masterswith the tags that was given upon registration.

- Players who do not report themselves to the Quarter-Master before 8.30am will bedisqualified.

12.Football Players and Highfield Park Netball Players is advised to take a shuttlebus to respective venues from Sport Centre.

11.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS

1. Remain alert to danger and report any suspicious activity you see or hear to theauthorised security officials (or contact the Security Manager)

2. Stay safe on public transport: Use the hopper buses which will be provided and notethe bus stops

3. Never leave bags unattended- when you need to go anywhere, ask your friends tokeep an eye on your bag. The Organizers will not be responsible for any thefts that occur

during the period of the games. You are responsible for your own belongings

4. Stay away from fights and unruly behaviour for both players and supporters. Let oursecurity people handle it. Again contact the security coordinators at each venue in the

event of unruly behaviour or fights

5.

Contact First Aiders on duty or shout for help in case of injuries. Our first aidvolunteers will be around in all the venues

6. Make sure you bring umbrellas and proper attire just in case it rains on the day.People could get hurt wearing the wrong attire particularly in Power League

7. Put on appropriate attire (e.g. shin pads) in order to prevent any injuries. (You couldbring your own first aid kit as it would come in handy) The organizer will not be

responsible for any injuries that may be sustained throughout the games. In case of any

unexpected injury, please refer to any first aiders who will be around to assist you when

you are in the pitch/court

8. For those who are taking part in indoor or outdoor games, kindly refrain from takingpart if you are experiencing any of the following: feeling ill, recovering from surgery or anyillness or if you are having any other known or unknown medical problems.

9. Make sure your contingent/ university group is aware of your whereabouts in orderto avoid you from being left behind.

10. Always remember, prevention is better than cure. Be prepared for the worse and staysafe!
